Zoning Plan
Palmete-La Negrita Seville, Andalusia, Spain Urban planning project_2017 The proposed project intervenes in an undeveloped urban area in the east of Seville. This urban fabric, of considerable extension, is degraded: an urban void that is devoid of any urban structure and endowment. It is located at a lower street level, less 4/5 Meters, compared to the roadway that surrounds it and it have a predominantly flat topography. The aim of the project is therefore to qualify the area by providing it with public and private services and a new road structure.

The road called “Calle de los Barrios Unidos” crosses the green area, used as a park, and connects commercial services with the church, schools, sports facilities and other social / collective public services. It has a North-South direction and is located at the level of the railway track. The road called “Avenida de la Pasarela” cuts the area perpendicularly (West-East directionto) the existing road level. It also generates a suspended pedestrian square that serves as an access to the new railway station.

The proposed project takes place in an urban area in the center of Seville. The area have an irregular shape, purely flat and at a level at least 60 cm lower than the road surface. An urban void degraded and abandoned to vegetation, without urban connection. It have wall remains of pre-existing buildings (before 1880) demolished after the second half of the 1900s. In particular, the area is characterized by the presence of important archaeological remains: three Roman columns from the 2nd century BC (-10m from the road). The urban plan of the historic center of Seville provides: - a new consolidation intervention aimed at enhancing the archaeological remains; - an urban-type intervention that could return the area of the territory; - an architectural intervention of public and social interest. Therefore the project responds with a consolidation intervention that also takes care of the aesthetic aspect: a porch of central importance and which acts as an entrance to the new public building. That is, a multifunctional library that offers, in addition to the reading room: a coffe shop , internal courtyards, a nursery, an auditorium, meeting rooms and an exhibition hall. 3

Cell-House
New way of living the home Seville, Andalusia, Spain Architectural planning_2017 Our houses respond to rigid construction schemes, not very flexible and characterized by a precise hierarchy of spaces. In other words, each space have a specific function. All this is dictated by a social structure focused on the concept of "traditional family". A concept that is now being replaced with a lot more dynamic coexistence schemes. Therefore we asked ourselves whether it is possible to design a house that meets everyone's needs (sleeping, eating, washing) and that, at the same time, is capable of offering flexibility and adaptability to all numerous social variables. Therefore "a modular architecture without hierarchy of spaces" is the objective theme of this project. it was developed inspired by the cellular structure (for its clear example of flexibility and social relationship) and its essential elements (nucleus, cytoplasm, mitochondria and membrane). In addition, famous design ideas and literary texts are re-proposed in a different way, such as: -"The rooms on wheels" by Shigeru Ban in Naked House, Saitama, Japan, 2000; -"The free partition of spaces" in Casa Mora di Abalos e Herreros a Cadiz, Spagna, 2000-2003; - "The open space" designed by L. Mies van der Rohe for Farnsworth house, Chicago, USA, 1951; -"The wall as a container of places", book by Francesco Cacciatore, Italy, 2011; and many others. 5

The building has a rectangular plan with two levels above ground. The structure is in load-bearing masonry made with solid bricks and stones of different sizes. The intermediate floor and the roof are in simple warping wood. It is currently in a state of neglect and dramatic degradation.

The intervention involves residential use, therefore the relevant regulations are respected. In addition, energy saving is taken care of, with careful use of materials, and also economic savings. Without neglecting its typological characteristics. However it was inevitable to consider the demolition of many of its parts, such as the floor and the roof, now in reversible degradation. The size of the building has made it possible to build two residential units on two levels each. the living area on the ground floor and the sleeping area on the upper floor.

Mobile unit for river crossing Thesis Project_2018 The degree thesis concerns the design of a cycle, pedestrian and mobile bridge. The philosophical, functional and technical aspects of bridges in general were considered in the first place, before reaching the type of bridge to be designed. In summary we can say that the oldest use of the bridge was certainly pedestrian. Despite its "primitive" origins, the variety and number of modern pedestrian bridges is remarkable. In fact, in recent times this typology is enjoying a rediscovery, thanks to the ability to redevelop the urban landscape. That leads urban planners and architects to seek a more sustainable approach, aimed at promoting slow mobility. At the same time we was concerned with solving the problem deriving from a fixed bridge: it prevents river crossing. Therefore mobile bridges seem to solve the problem. but they present truly remarkable engineering challenges, caused by the changing and reversible forces exerted by their moving elements on the structure. The Paddington bridges are a concrete example of what has just been said: Rolling Bridge and The Fan Bridge.
The thesis bridge has three elliptical arches and double bascule. Each bascule has a portion with a reduced section to slide inside the other portion during the movement mechanism. They rotate around hinges placed in the central pier in the riverbed. The motorization system is placed inside the central hollow arch.

The bridge houses two separate paths: one for pedestrian traffic and the other for cycle traffic. The materials used are: S550Q steel for the structure and Abate wood for the decking. The foundations are made of reinforced concrete . The structural verification of the project was carried out with MasterSap 2017 Software Company, following the indications of the NTC08.
