2020 Impact Summary

2020 Impact Summary Our Virgil Family Health Center was designed as a comforting oasis in a busy world – and we’ve provided 3,112 patient visits since opening in April.

“My husband Robert and I share a passion for the importance of all life on earth – and so does Saban Community Clinic. Their work is local and SO important. After donating the elephant photo taken on a safari to Botswana, we felt inspired to sponsor an exam room at the new Virgil facility.” Diane and Robert, Philanthropists

“I expected the showers to go away like so many other programs did when the virus hit. But Saban never missed a day. They still had all their services on the street for us. People don’t realize what that help means. It can be life or death out here.”

As resources became unavailable to unhoused individuals, we provided 5,930 showers and passed out thousands of meals, sleeping bags, masks, toiletry kits, and other essentials.

John, Unhoused Patient

To protect every patient and staff member, we spent more than $650k on safety measures including PPE, masks, and sanitizers.

“My toddler doesn’t want to wear a mask and puts her hand on everything, but I still felt comfortable in the clinic. It was so clean and everyone wore their masks and kept distant.” Sarah, Patient

“It was honestly scary to continue doing street outreach at the beginning of COVID, when there were so many unknowns. But we all knew that no matter what we would continue our mission to help the most vulnerable people in our community.” Negeen, Physician Assistant

Our Roving Medical Team services for people in temporary housing shelters in Hollywood and East L.A. expanded from one site to five and we opened a clinic at The Center in Hollywood.
