The
Invitation Your investment preserves the story. Your presence becomes part of it.
The SAAACAM Legacy Awards Ball is more than an evening of celebration. It is an invitation to experience history—and help preserve it. In 2027, the San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum will bring together leaders, storytellers, philanthropists and friends for An Evening of Story, Song & Legacy—an intimate journey through three extraordinary San Antonio spaces. From a beautifully curated dinner at the historic Gunter Hotel, to an unforgettable performance and celebration at the Empire Theatre, to a late-night gathering inside SAAACAM's future home at the historic Kress Building, each chapter of the evening has been designed to celebrate the people, places and stories that shape our collective legacy. Your sponsorship helps SAAACAM collect, preserve and share the history and cultural heritage of African descendants of San Antonio and the Southwest region—and build the institution that will carry those stories forward for generations. 2

The stories we preserve today become the history future generations inherit. SAAACAM was founded to ensure that the stories, contributions and cultural heritage of African descendants in San Antonio and the Southwest are collected, preserved and shared. Today, that work reaches far beyond the walls of a museum. Through exhibitions, oral histories, education, community partnerships and cultural experiences, SAAACAM connects people to a history that belongs to all of us. Now, SAAACAM is preparing for its most ambitious chapter yet—the transformation of the historic Kress and Grant buildings into a new cultural center in the heart of downtown San Antonio. Legacy Awards Ball sponsors aren't simply supporting an event. They are helping preserve history and build its future home. 4
