Nor Cal Carpenters Training

Over 140 years ago the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC) was founded. Though much has changed the union continues its unwavering commitment to helping carpenters improve their lives, their futures, and their trade.

Located in the center of Solano County in Fairfield is the Nor Cal Carpenters Training Apprenticeship school. At this facility Apprentices are taking classes to help achieve Journeyperson status. The Union mission is to build, promote and support education and secure career development opportunities for our membership, dedicated to member service, professionalism, and industry prominence. The Nor Cal Carpenters Training (NCCT) continually develops and provides state-of-the-art training programs to our apprentices and journey level members alike. The International Training Facility offers instructor-training and direct member training in scores of UBC craft skills, as well as comprehensive leadership education for members in the building trades. Through four Training Centers the NCCT is able to deliver real world training that reflects the ever evolving technologies in our industry.

A Union Carpenter is a member of an organization that represents all its member’s interests. As part of a Union these Carpenters receive higher wages and benefit packages because of collective bargaining and representation from their Union. What this means for Solano County is that when Union Carpenter members work in Solano County not only do they bring their skill to the job, but they also bring their pocketbooks. Union members spend money. They often live and work in our communities and support our local economies. Cities and Counties that work with the Nor Cal Carpenters Union benefit by; skilled workers, strong workforce with representation and money to spend in the community.
