Hi and welcome to the November edition.

This weekend I met with an old friend who moved out to live in New Zealand many years ago. We kind of keep in touch but it's really sporadic.

This time we caught up face to face in Nottingham (my home town), whilst he was visiting family, drank coffee, ate pizza and it was really great to see him and his son.

I'll admit that I've become a bit of a 'glass half empty' kind of guy, I don't think I was like this previously and we discussed this. After visiting he sent a message.

"You don’t live in a bad spot mate.

"Seems like you’ve carved out your piece of heaven - I’m trying to 'live everyday' - I don’t sweat the ‘what might have’ and celebrate what I have - which is less than some and more than others."

This has put me back on track! That last line, 'celebrate what I have - which is less than some and more than others.'

Anyway, I find myself smiling!

Enjoy this edition of S40 Local, take a browse of our gift guide and go and buy some gifts over the counter from a small independent business, ignore Black Friday, Prime Day and just celebrate what we have.

Stay well.

Fungi at Linacre

Meet this month's cover artist, Izzy Shaw

Words: Simon Paterson

Images: Isabelle Shaw

This month’s front cover artist, Isabelle Shaw, Izzy to her mates, was that kid at school who always had a pencil in hand and paint under her fingernails. She honestly can’t remember a time before brushes and sketchbooks.

“I recently bumped into my old infant school teacher, Mrs Gex, and the very first thing she asked was, ‘Still doodling?’ I just laughed and said, ‘Well, I’ve just graduated from Birmingham University with a Fine Art degree!’” Izzy grins at the memory.

Izzy grew up in Chesterfield, attending St Mary’s Primary and then the secondary school. “I always knew I wanted to be an artist. At school, I scraped passes in pretty much everything except art, which I absolutely excelled at. At primary I was the kid who loved after-school club, purely because it usually meant something messy and creative!”

"My grandad played a pivotal role in my cultural development, and I've always loved galleries. He worked for the National Trust, so we got free entry to all sorts of places. Even as a kid, I was completely gobsmacked by the huge tapestries and paintings. That’s when my obsession with William Morris first began,” says Izzy.

At sixth form, she discovered her biggest artistic inspiration. “We were set a project on Ernst Haeckel, a biological illustrator who did these wonderfully weird, intricate drawings of plants and sea creatures. His work was so wacky and beautiful, it inspired me to go down the botanical route. Carnivorous plants are still my favourite thing to paint.”

That brings us neatly to her front cover artwork, her take on the fungi growing on trees at Linacre Reservoir. “When my dog was a puppy, he was too naughty to take anywhere else, so we’d walk him at Linacre. That’s where I started noticing all the different trees and mushrooms. They look nothing like the ones we cook with,

they’re these extraordinary shapes and colours, like magical stepping stones. I just had to paint them.”

Izzy paints in oils but has her own way of working. “I don’t do underpainting, you know, shading in beforehand to help with contrast. I go straight onto a white canvas. A lot of artists build in layers, but I dive straight into the detail. No messing about. I trust my process, and it works for me.”

She’s also turned her hand to digital art. “My ex was obsessed with Spider-Man and Star Wars, so I made him a Star Wars comic starring him as the hero! It took me about two months, but if I’m close to someone, you can bet they’re getting a homemade gift.”

Of course, the artist’s life isn’t always easy. “The hardest part is the lack of money, but don’t let that put you off. If you want to live an artist’s life, go for it. I come from a small town, so I don’t have the ready-made connections some people do. Making those links is tough. But honestly, you’ve got to do what makes you happy. Otherwise, what’s the point?”

So, what’s next for Izzy? “Last year I went to New York with uni. I only went because the university paid half, and I wanted to see the galleries, I thought I’d hate it! But I absolutely loved it. I’ve applied for several internships there now. Fingers crossed I get one. I even thought, ‘If I apply for the Medieval Room, they’ll have to put a Brit in there!’” she laughs.

We wish Izzy the very best and hope she’s soon bossing the Medieval Room in New York. After all, my local pub is older than America, they definitely need a Brit on hand!”

Izzy’s always up for new artistic opportunities! You can reach her at: isabelleshaw0709@gmail.com

Chesterfield Market

The beating heart of my town

Words: Simon Paterson

Images: Destination Chesterfield

I’ve lived in Chesterfield all my life, and if there’s one place that has always felt like the town’s heartbeat, it’s our market.

Its history stretches back to 1165, with King John’s charter in 1204 giving us the right to hold a Saturday market and an annual fair. That means generations of my family, and countless others, have walked the cobbles, bartered at the stalls, and shared stories in the square. For me, it’s even more personal, the market gave me my very first job, teaching me the value of hard work and community spirit. It’s not just a market; it’s part of who we are!

A Market Renewed: Recently, I’ve watched with pride as the Market Place has been given a new lease of life. The renovations have brought fresh paving, better lighting, and smart new stalls that still respect the heritage of the town. There are more places to sit, and more space to wander and hold live events. It’s modern, progressive and future proofed. It feels safer, brighter, and more welcoming, while still holding onto the character that makes it ours. The market isn’t just part of my history, it’s part of my future too, and I know it will keep shaping my life and our town for years to come.

Why It Matters: For Chesterfield, the market isn’t just about shopping, it’s about survival and success. It draws people into the town centre, keeps our high street alive, and supports local jobs. When I see visitors from outside the area stopping to browse or enjoy a coffee, I know the market is doing its job: keeping Chesterfield vibrant and relevant in a world where so many town centres are struggling.

What’s On: One of the joys of living here is the variety:

General Market: Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with everything from fresh fruit and veg (shout out to Ibbotsons) to clothes and homeware.

Flea Market: Thursdays, where I’ve spent hours rummaging for collectibles, comics and

quirky finds.

Record Fair: From Fleetwood Mac to Michael Jackson and the Arctic Monkeys, the monthly record fair is a must visit for casual and serious collectors alike.

Artisan Market: Held on the last Sunday of every month. Find a high-quality range of authentic goods with an emphasis on all that is local, ethical and original.

Vegan Market: I admit, I’m not a vegan, but it hasn’t stopped me from popping down and buying some tasty treats on the last Sunday of the month.

Specialist Markets: From the 1940s Market to the Medieval, international and Christmas Markets, these events bring the square alive with music, costumes, and community spirit.

Why I Love It: For me, Chesterfield Market is more than stalls and sales, it’s history, it’s memories. It’s where I bought my first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and held my first job, where my grandparents picked up their weekly groceries, and where I still bump into old Nobby Green friends. There’s a warmth here, a sense of belonging that Amazon and Asos can never replace. The market is our past, our present, and thanks to its renewal, our future.

So ... I urge you to stand with me in backing this modernisation, let’s celebrate and champion our town centre, not tear it down.

Hoppin’ Mad CakeAway

New to Chesterfield Market Hall

Words: Paul Chapman

Image: Emma Owens

Hoppin' Mad Cakeaway is new to Chesterfield Market Hall and is Emma Owen’s business, a vegan and gluten friendly business.

Living in Devon, Emma had a friend who ran a health food shop and allowed Emma to use her kitchen and sell her products in the shop. “I started baking as a hobby,” says Emma. “My in-laws are gluten intolerant, and my sister was vegan so I started experimenting with cakes they could enjoy.”

Emma has always enjoyed working in hospitality of some sort, like so many youngsters she started working at the age of 15 in cafes, and this inspired her down the same route in her college choices.

“My friends unfortunately decided to close their shop, so I was left without an outlet for my baking, so I decided I’d start selling on local artisan markets. This was a great way to gain feedback and refine my recipes,” says Emma. I was keen to know a bit more about how you make a cake that tastes great but uses no flour, wheat, barley, dairy or eggs.

“Apart from the list above there are many other baking products to avoid; red food dye contains crushed beetles, and shellac is no longer considered vegan as it originates from an insect who produces the resin in their egg production.

“There are many replacements available, amaranth, buckwheat, corn, millet, quinoa, rice, and sorghum can be used to make gluten friendly flours, flax seeds can replace eggs. It’s often a case of trial and error, swapping in vegan and vegetarian options and creating a recipe that works.

“It’s essential that the end product has the taste and texture of a traditional Cake. Some people associate vegan and vegetarian cakes with no taste or having a dusty texture, I can guarantee you’ll not find that with my products,” says Emma.

She will readily admit that it’s a constant learning process, but the time and effort taken is starting to pay off.

Whilst there I bought five assorted cakes from Hoppin' Mad Cakeaway and took them back to the studio for a trial run. Everyone agreed these were very good, the rocky road stood out as a clear winner for us but all passed the taste and texture test (Ed: like we’re pro food reviewers! but we were happy). Emma’s best sellers are Rocky Roads, the Cherry Bakewell and her Carrot Cake. Emma also offers several sugar free products for diabetics.

I asked how she came to be in Chesterfield from Devon. “I suffered with health problems in Devon so came back home, we have family in

Sheffield and Chesterfield, and I came for their support.

“My health improved I prepared my kitchen at home, which has been approved and met the necessary food hygiene standards. I've taken space in the market hall and if all goes well, I hope to open my own premises, with kitchen and shop in the future.”

“The guys on the market have been really supportive,” says Emma, “I love being part of the crowd in the market hall, everyone is so welcoming.” You can also try Emma’s gluten free and vegan baked goods in No 10 Tea Rooms and she hopes to expand and supply other local cafes with allergen friendly baked goods.

Emma is happy to take orders for celebration cakes by arrangement, she is keen to stress that she is a cake maker and not decorator, the cupcake bouquets sell really well for events. If you would like a selection for Christmas her order book is open for mince pies and Christmas cakes, catering for all needs what could be better that something home cooked and lovingly prepared by Emma.

You can find Emma at The Hoppin' Mad Cakeaway in the market hall, opposite the old Post Office in town and she’s open Monday, Friday and Saturday 9am to 3pm and Thursday 9am to 4pm.

The last words go to Emma, “Come and give my cakes a try, I can assure you that you’ll love them.”

Intro: Derbyshire Light Medical (DLM)

Independent Medical Help - You Never Know When You Might Need It

Words: Paul Chapman

Images: DLM

In a world where health emergencies can strike at any time, having access to swift, professional medical support can make all the difference. That’s where Derbyshire Light Medical (DLM) comes in. Based in Chesterfield town centre, this independent medical team offers an impressive range of services – from event medical cover and fall recovery to first aid training, fire warden support, and even resident medics for businesses and events.

At the heart of DLM is Paul Hartshorn, an experienced emergency medical technician with a background in healthcare and a specialist interest in remote medicine. Paul and his team undergo constant training to ensure their skills remain at the cutting edge. “It’s so important we stay up to speed with changes,” he explains.

Founded in 2014, DLM was originally focused on event support. Paul recalls how it began: “I worked for a private ambulance company and was approached to cover an event. I invested in kit and started providing medical support across Derbyshire.”

The arrival of Covid-19 posed challenges, but it also gave Paul the chance to refine his services, today, DLM’s portfolio is broader and more vital than ever.

Fall Response - A Lifeline When Time Matters: One of DLM’s most valued services is its Fall Response. When someone suffers a non-injury fall, ambulance wait times can stretch from four to six hours, or even longer, we can fill that gap. “We provide a full medical assessment on arrival,” Paul says. “If it’s safe, we’ll help the individual up, or if not, we’ll stay with them until an ambulance arrives.”

Real-life examples highlight the impact DLM can have. In one case, both fire and ambulance services were co-ordinated for a patient trapped in a tight location, avoiding delays. In another, they attended a fall outside a residential care home where an ambulance wait was estimated at eight hours. DLM stepped in, safely assisting the patient into bed until a further assessment by the ambulance services on arrival later confirmed no additional treatment was needed.

DLM's support is vital in home care services and residential homes where they offer a service for domiciliary care workers based on a subscription of just 35p per care hour. This provides a standby medical team and gives carers the peace of mind they need knowing support is available should they need it when visiting clients.

Training the Next Generation: DLM equips others to handle emergencies from their Chesterfield base where they offer first aid training in small classes of up to six people.

They also proudly support six students from St Mary’s School, who serve as emergency medical responders alongside experienced staff. “Each of them wants to move into ambulance work or paramedicine,” Paul explains. “We give them a pathway into emergency care.”

Peace of Mind: DLM operates on a simple principle: no one is ever turned away. While corporate and event services are fee-based, individual domestic call-outs are supported by voluntary donations. This model ensures that help is always available, whether for a friend, relative, or even a stranger in need. “It’s about peace of mind,” says Paul. “I love what I do, every day brings something new.”

How to Contact DLM: Whether you need event medical cover, workplace training or urgent fall response, DLM is ready to help. Keep the number handy, you never know when you or someone you love might need it.

Simon Says Read This Book

Words and Images: Simon Paterson

Project Hail Mary Andy Weir

With 3i Atlas currently hurtling toward Mars, it feels almost cosmically appropriate that this year I read Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, and I haven’t stopped badgering my friends and family to read it since. Dare I say it’s my favourite book of all time? I dare. I have. And I’ll keep saying it until someone else reads it just so I can talk to them about it!

Project Hail Mary follows Dr. Ryland Grace, a mild-mannered high school chemistry teacher who wakes up alone on a spaceship with a serious case of amnesia. As he runs experiments to figure out which solar system, he’s in and what on (or off) Earth is going on, his memories start to return. Unfortunately for him (and all of humanity), those memories include the small detail that the fate of the entire planet rests squarely on his shoulders. The fate of the planet is project-managed (yes, literally project-managed) by a woman named Stratt, possibly the most direct person alive. Ryland’s flashbacks to his conversations with her reveal how he ultimately ended up aboard the spaceship tasked with saving Earth. Spoiler alert: there’s a twist ... and it’s a good one!

What unfolds is classic Andy Weir: science, heavy problem solving wrapped in genuine warmth and humour. You don’t need to be a physicist to follow along, though by the end, you might feel like you could run a few calculations on the side. The real joy, however, comes from an unexpected friendship that proves just as gripping as the interstellar stakes.

The ending, oh, the ending… simply perfect! I’d sing its praises louder if I could, but I’ve already said too much and wouldn’t want to spoil this interstellar joyride for my lovely readers.

It’s funny, tense, engaging, emotional and the ultimate page turner. It’s everything!

Verdict: A thrilling, heartwarming, and unputdownable journey through space. The easiest five stars ever! Read it. Thank me later.

Creativity Through Ceramics

Meet Peter Marshall producer of thrown and hand built ceramics.

Words & Images: Paul Chapman

We have a host of interesting people in our community and meeting them is one of the joys of this job. Meeting retired art teacher Pete and wife Rhian was one of those joys. The couple live in Somersall and Pete admits to being a creative, dreamy soul; he loves the outdoors, landscapes, nature and from his garden works in a ceramic's studio, a real passion allowing him to indulge his creativity. He established ‘Somersall Studio’ in 2021, after retiring from teaching art & design.

“I completed a degree in ceramics in 1982. My mum taught art which led to me making my first pot at the age of 10,” says Pete. “I did a foundation arts course in Chesterfield and went to Manchester Polytechnic to do a course in ceramics and glass; my dissertation was in visual effect and archaeology of field patterns of Derbyshire."

"I retired six years ago, not long before COVID but had a varied work life. I started as a stock fencer, responsible for constructing fences and dry-stone walls in and around Derbyshire, keeping animals where they are meant to be! I then joined Peter Miles Furniture but eventually decided to use my degree and undertook a PGCE and started teaching art & design in schools."

Pete taught drawing, painting, design and ceramics and whilst busy working he didn't have much time to further his personal artwork ideas, as teaching was coupled up with bringing up his two daughters, and actively walking and cycling, as well as renovating family homes.

Pete’s wife, Rhian describes him as a free spirit and it's evident in the way he talks with so much passion about his home projects. There are the raised beds full of alpaca poo, the shed and his ceramics studio built during covid times, and the work he’s done on the house. Pete is clearly

a man who loves to work with his hands, and he's responsible for much of the changing of his house and garden.

The dedicated pottery studios are filled with interesting drawings, pots - both finished and in progress and there is something to check out whichever way you look. This garden studio has enabled Pete to jump start his creativity process again.

“I’m really interested in ancient pottery and the way people developed how they fired clay to make vessels,” explains Pete. “It’s great to connect with our ancestors, and work sometimes simply without all the technology available. I make my own slips and glazes, and this adds to the authenticity of the final pieces.”

“I also love Raku-ware, a type of Japanese pottery traditionally used in tea ceremonies. I use a gas fired kiln, which involves a hands-on process of removing the pots when they’re red hot and plunging them into a smoke chamber.”

These different processes result in many finished pieces, created for the love of the process rather than produced to sell. Pete enjoys creating new pieces and continuing experimentally with his ideas. This produces many pieces and to clear space, Pete recently had a stall in Holymoorside Village Hall as part of the Derbyshire Open Arts event, an interesting way to sell his goods and get feedback from people. He’s also helped local people try their hand at hand throwing on a potter’s wheel, and he’s participated in a local wellbeing day offering creative workshops in Holymoorside. He recently was invited to take a selection of works to showcase in an Easter exhibition in a gallery in Denmark.

Pete is a man who likes meeting people and supporting them in their creative enjoyment. He is also happy to undertake commissions or small workshops, so if you like the look of what he does, or you’d like to visit his studio please get in touch.

Thanks to Peter and Rhian for inviting me into their home to enjoy their space and allowing me to share Pete's story.

40 Years Of Support

Words: Paul Chapman

Images: The Elm Foundation

This year marks a milestone for a local charity: The Elm Foundation. Established in 1985 they're a service offering help and support to people affected by domestic abuse.

What began as a lifeline for those in crisis has grown into a network of support services supporting victims in Chesterfield, Northeast Derbyshire, Bolsover and Amber Valley. They are also responsible for managing the Derbyshire Domestic Abuse Helpline. Here is where support begins, it’s the first point of contact for anyone worried about domestic abuse, whether it’s happening to them, someone they love, or even if they just have concerns about a situation. From that first call, the team either signposts callers to the right support or walks with them through the process whether that means finding refuge, helping someone stay safe in their own home, or accessing specialist services provided by The Elm Foundation or other specialist support providers.

The Elm Foundation also supports children and young people at risk, provides therapeutic services to help victims rebuild their lives after separation, and work with perpetrators, referred by police who recognise they need help changing their behaviour. As Partnership Lead, Helen Onion explains, “It’s about changing the narrative around domestic abuse and building a support network, we’re here to ensure people are safe and know they don’t have to go through this alone.”

A Forest of Hope: To mark its 40th anniversary, the charity is wanting to engage the community in creative celebrations. Local schools and community groups have come together to create 1,600 handmade leaves that will form 40 symbolic trees, “a Forest of Hope,” explains Helen. “It represents four decades of support, the idea - to challenge the silence that abusers rely on and instead show that communities can come together to shine a light on the issues.”

Alongside the Forest of Hope there is ‘TEF:40 Challenge’, a call to individuals and businesses to get moving. Beginning in October, the charity is asking people to complete 40 hours of fitness in 40 days. It could be walking, cycling, yoga, or even using the exercise bike that will be installed in Elm Foundation’s reception. The goal? Raise vital funds to keep services going at a time when demand is higher than ever.

The Queens Reading Room: The Elm Foundation has also taken part in the Queen’s Reading Room Festival at Chatsworth, celebrating the restorative power of reading.

The Queen’s Reading Room Charity, festival authors and attendees donated beautiful books that will enable book clubs and safe reading spaces. It’s another way of bringing people together, through books, “we’re hoping to create survivor led book clubs, a safe space where people can come together and escape from the daily pressures,” says Helen.

Domestic abuse can happen to anyone, male, female, young people and older people. The Elm Foundation wants to change the narrative, making sure that people know support is there, whatever their situation. They also work with employers, helping workplaces understand how to spot signs of abuse among colleagues and how to respond.

For Helen, who joined the charity in 2019 after a career as a speech and language therapist, this work is deeply personal. “I saw too many missed opportunities because people didn’t know what they were looking at,” she says. “Here, I get to change that.”

As the Elm Foundation steps into its next 40 years, its message is simple but powerful: domestic abuse thrives in silence, but support can change this.

If you or someone you know needs help, call the Derbyshire Domestic Abuse Helpline (number below), or visit the Helpline website (www.derbyshiredomesticabusehelpline.co.uk).

One call changes lives - access support via email, online form or web chat. If you want to get involved in any fundraising or community events check out The Elm Foundation website, you can even donate there too.

Bright Winter Nights

Immersive Light Show Returns To Bolsover Castle - Now Across Two Nights!

Words: Junction Arts

Image: Richard Gardner

The sell-out event Bright Winter Nights will return to Bolsover Castle this November, illuminating the town’s iconic landmark for two magical evenings.

Launched in 2023 by Junction Arts to celebrate 30 years of the Bolsover Lantern Parade, Bright Winter Nights has quickly become a highlight of the winter calendar. Each year, the show combines large-scale projections, soundscapes, and interactive artworks to transform the castle into a glowing canvas of community spirit and creativity.

This year’s theme is “Hear My Voice”, with all artworks co-created alongside young people from Bolsover. Working directly with professional artists, they are shaping the installations to ensure their ideas, perspectives, and voices take centre stage.

The Bolsover Partnership is funding a project with Bolsover School, while Boza Youth Club is collaborating with VideoClub and Urban Projections. Global supply chain solutions provider Wesco Anixter is also supporting the event by funding an art commission involving Stubbin Wood School and Neurohub.

In response to overwhelming demand, organisers Junction Arts have added an extra evening, giving more people the chance to experience the spectacular light show.

This year, the event will take place on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 November, from 4.30pm to 7.30pm, with a dedicated quiet session from 4.30pm to 5pm.

Tickets are on sale, and prices remain the same as last year: £2 per child and £3 per adult.

Kylie North, Project Manager at Junction Arts, said: “We’re so excited to bring Bright Winter Nights back to Bolsover for a third year – and now across two nights! It’s become such a favourite with local people because every year feels different, with new ideas lighting up the castle walls. This year’s theme, ‘Hear My Voice,’ is all about young people sharing their thoughts and dreams for the future. Get ready to be dazzled – and don’t be surprised if there are a few unexpected twists along the way!”

November in the Garden

Words & images: Transition Chesterfield & Inspire Community Garden

While much of the garden is winding down, November still offers a surprising number of jobs. As always, the key is to work with the rhythms of nature, not against them.

If you’re still surrounded by apple windfalls after this year’s bumper crop, don’t let them go to waste. Bruised or slightly damaged fruit can be chopped and frozen, stewed, or juiced. Local wildlife will also thank you: leave a few apples in a quiet corner as a food source for birds, hedgehogs and late wasps. Avoid leaving large piles on lawns, where they can cause damage and attract rot.

Rake leaves off lawns, paths, and beds to prevent smothering plants or creating slips. Bagged leaves (with a few holes punched in) or a simple chicken-wire leaf mould bin will turn them into rich, peat-free mulch by next autumn. It’s a great soil conditioner.

Resist the urge to cut everything down. Leaving seedheads and hollow stems provides vital winter shelter for insects and food for birds. Ornamental grasses, teasels, and seedheads like echinacea or rudbeckia are also beautiful on a frosty morning. If veg beds are empty, sow green manures like field beans or phacelia to cover the ground and add nutrients. Alternatively, mulch bare patches with compost, woodchip, or cardboard to suppress weeds and support soil life through winter.

Roses and soft fruit bushes can be pruned once dormant, removing any dead, damaged or crossing branches to improve airflow. Apple and pear trees can also be pruned now – but don’t be too harsh if yours are still recovering from a heavy fruiting year.

Tulip bulbs are best planted after the first cold snap to reduce the risk of fungal disease. Choose peat-free bulbs from UK growers where possible, and plant them deep (around 20cm), ideally in small groups for a more natural look.

You can still sow broad beans and hardy peas for a head-start next spring. Brassicas may need protection from pigeons using netting or fleece. Meanwhile, herbs like parsley and chives can be potted up and brought indoors for winter picking.

November’s quieter pace is a good time to reflect on what went well this year, make notes, and browse seed catalogues. Order early if you want heritage or organic varieties –they often sell out fast.

And don’t forget, Transition Chesterfield’s Potato Day will be on Saturday 31 January 2026, and pre-orders are open until 14 November at www. transitionchesterfield.org.uk. Dozens of varieties of seed potato, sold by the tuber so you can try a mix. Onion sets, garlic, shallots, peas and beans are also available – all ideal for early spring planting. For growing advice and inspiration, visit Inspire Community Garden on Sunday mornings, Wednesday afternoon or Thursday evenings.

The brand-new trail will be open from 26th November - 31st December, and will be the ultimate festive experience, for the whole family.

Wander through the illuminated gardens and discover enchanting surprises at every turn. With plenty of photo opportunities and immersive features designed to delight visitors of all ages, it’s the perfect setting for making unforgettable memories.

Pause at the pit stop to warm up by the fire, toast marshmallows, and sip mulled wine or hot chocolate. Savour delicious food from local independent vendors. Want to end the evening in style? Purchase a slot in an Alpine-inspired private chalet with 8-10 for your favourite people!
