Editor's note

Editor

One often wonders about the timing and when to start and if the time is right for this, or this or that The answer is that The time is always perfect when YOU are ready.

When YOU start to jump and take that leap of faith the universe gets itself ready to follow you Everything will either follow you or crumble around you, as it would have done in any case However, when we fix ourselves and change our mindset we see the world through a different lens

This month we have Tsholo Peeters who preaches a holistic approach to our lives, do check if you have environmental, financial, occupational, physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and family fitness How can you get there? What tools do you need?

The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any

Perhaps you need services from L&D Partners? Or RZD Coaching? Perhaps a scrumptious meal by Chef Linda? Have a read through Zakithi’s ‘fighting the urge to quit’ and be inspired to do better in 2023. It is always within you.

Fighting The Fighting The Urge to Quit… Urge to Quit…

For many of us, the beginning of the year presents us with an opportunity to review the current state of our personal affairs, reconsider our life choices, commit to new goals, start afresh and put some work in, to reach the destination we desire.

I recently reflected on the fact that we are just over the first quarter of the year, and my thoughts quickly drew me to the fact that there are some matters that I thought by now I would have managed to improve or achieve in my life.

Despite all the efforts I have implored, I have realized that in some areas of my life I have come to a point where I experienced resistance – where I’ve gotten into a place where seems like there is just a force that stops me from progressing

The reality is that it is the nature of life itself that no matter how much planning we can do life will bring us to a point where we experience constant roadblocks – a feeling whereby no matter how much effort we put in, somehow, we feel exhausted and defeated.

One thing that is fairly common in human nature when we are faced with resistance, we sometimes feel the urge to quit. Although it is a normal human reactive response, it does not mean that we should entertain the urge to quit

The truth is if we do not quit, we draw ourselves closer to a place of more opportunities, joy, abundance, peace and fulfilment of our dreams. This reflective moment made me look deeper within and review alternate ways or options as such:

1. Decide that you are going to stay on course; when the going gets tough you’re allowed to pause, reflect, rest, get back up and keep going. Like a toddler who is still learning to walk, they fall, and get bruised but they insist, they get up again until they can walk and find their feet.

2. Check for Self-sabotaging behaviours: these actions which we do or don’t to ourselves that potentially block us from making progress or changes we desire in life. It could simply be that we are failing to prioritize, to plan and follow through

3. Allow yourself to Fail Well – When you allow yourself to fail well, this is when you acknowledge that you have not succeeded in something which you had planned to achieve. Failing well means that you are not making excuses but you’re opening yourself to deeply feel all the emotions that come with that disappointment; as you allow these emotions to run their course, you bring yourself into a new world of thinking differently and exploring some of the contributing factors that could have caused you to fail

A p r i l 2 0 2 3

4. Have a Sense of Resilience; Understand that resistance is not going to break you but it is presenting you with an opportunity to bounce back, realize that you have the capacity to break barriers and fight towards reaching greater heights. Adopt a strong sense of belief in yourself and your capabilities as you manifest the life you desire.

5. Build Momentum – I found that during the period of resistance, we are challenged to think more, our thought patterns are strengthened and as we rise we are no longer the same but a better version of who we need to be Do not shy away from the right principles you have set for your life.

I would like to leave you with these words of encouragement by one of my favourite authors, whose words have had a major impact on my critical thinking. She says that when we face resistance, we have to continuously speak to ourselves positively and not succumb to negativity that could be surrounding us -

TPee Active - Using fitness as a vessel to transform people’s lives holistically

Whenwethinkoffitness, weoftenthink of a big muscular guy, smelly sweat, pain, discomfort and disgusting green drinks.

Itisbecausethereissuchaterriblegymculturein mainstream media that is fixated on extreme diets, exerciseandsuffering.

How many of us pick up weight without thinking and when we have to do some work at losing it, often pick up a gym membership andleaveitafterafewattempts?

Well, TPee’s Tsholo believes in not only physical body work but follows a holistic understanding of your body so that you can fully embrace the change, and gain true empowerment and happiness in your own body

Fitnespreneure, wife and mother of three TsholoPeetersisnotonlyafitnessinfluencer, and Mrs SA finalist but uses all of the hats she wears to build change to transform women, and her voice to speak for the less fortunate andmostvulnerableinsociety.

Black woman in science

Our fave fitness hun is not only teaching us how to be extraordinary in our own lives but also lives it herself; she is taking up space in corporate as one of the telecoms industryleading systems engineers with over 16 years of experience. Becoming Mrs SA… a top 10 finalist

Modelling is one of those things little girls dream and think about, this was the case for Tsholo especially because of her striking resemblance with BasetsanaKhumalo

When the Mrs South Africa competition was brought to her attention, she thought well “There is only one crown, but it is a good avenue to model with a purpose ” . She entered for the fun and ended up learning so much more. Mrs South Africa is not about the crown, it is about serving your community.Itisalsoexpensivetobeapartofitand a lot of investment is needed, but the benefits and networksareworthit.

The pageant teaches you how to be a businesswoman, and how to allocate funds for yourself and for your cause. It teaches you how to use the Miss SA finalist sash to open doors for others. How to write a proposal. There are many groups and individuals that need you to be a bridge for them and fight for them. Tsholo is still running community events, and negotiating for certain children’ssportskitsandschoolshoes.

Beauty? How do I define it…

Being content with one ’ s true self is true beauty. Understanding growth comes from within. Appreciation of growth. You become beautiful, by being content with your imperfections. Understanding that I have imperfections and being vulnerable

What do you do with your beauty? Do you use it in advocating for real issues? Advocating for human rights. Against gender-based violence, standing up for others. That is true beauty.

Milestones

Over and above everything. Listening to and hearing the testimonies from the people that we have helped is amazing and really affirms the truepurposeofwhatwearedoingatTPeeActive.

Lessons along the way

When Tsholo entered the fitness industry, a lot was going on and she felt that the market was congested. She asked herself, “ everyone is doing this, why me? Why will people support me?” but her brand was authentic and lifestyle based, people relatedtoherreallifeexperiencessomuch more. There are no shortcuts. There are many products in the market but she has keptherselfauthenticandtrue.

Thereisalwayscompetitionandanewkid on the block, especially online with social media platforms like Tik Tok. One always needs new ways of thinking and innovation.

With apparel, finding the perfect fit, for boobs, andbumsthatprovidesupportand comfort for her target market She needed to try a lot and do a lot of research to get theidealproduct.
