Triathlon Skills for the Beginner

NEW!

Ages 18+ Session 2: November 15, 2016-January, 26 2017 Have you always dreamed about entering a triathlon, but want to take some time to work on the skills you need before you start training? Our Triathlon Skills Class, geared to beginner-level triathletes, offers the perfect solution. Improve your skills and build your fitness with us this winter and be prepared to start training in earnest for the 2017 triathlon season.

BODY, MIND, SPIRIT CLASSES AT THE WAINWRIGHT YOGA CENTER

You will be working with swim coaches, cycling instructors and experienced triathletes in a structured setting designed to hone your skills and technique while building your training base. This class balances technique and training sessions in swimming, cycling and running with a series of workshops to improve you knowledge of the sport. Topics include: Training Plan Design, Heart Rate Monitoring, Nutrition, Yoga for Athletes, Wetsuit Selection, and Race Preparation. Participants will also learn about injury prevention, and will receive a functional movement assessment as well as a video swim stroke analysis in the first week of class. Meets twice a week for 9 weeks. Tuesday and Thursday: 7:30-9:30 pm

PIlates: Performed on mats, stretching and isometric contraction to produce a smoother, longer body silhouette.

yoga: Hatha: traditional postures, visualization and meditation. Vinyasa (“power yoga�): Flowing, vigorous practice. Ashtanga: synchronizes breathing with a progressive posture series which detoxifies muscles and organs; Gentle: Basic yoga postures, stretching for all levels. Restorative: Using postures to help still and soothe the mind. Kundalini: An ancient form; breath-generated.

Ages 16 & up USA GOJU style karate, taught by a black belt instructor. Courses designed to enhance self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-discipline. Tuesday: 6:00-8:00 pm Member: FREE; Non-Member: $152 session
