To be successful in the development of a residential space for a client’s personal needs, we must consider the challenges and possible solutions. This is to ensure a seamless transition from the outside world into the comfort of a home.

The goal is to design a dwelling unit that provides graceful functionality specific to barrier-free mobility, multi-sensory engagement and navigational inclusiveness. This is done using inclusive design, interactive architecture and way finding elements. An environment that promotes productivity and a positive lifestyle is important.

In this project, the primary focus is to design a space that encourages movement from one space to another, while promoting an adaptable environment to be used for the remainder of the client’s life span. This is achieved through a blend of design techniques used when considering the limitations of visually impaired persons.
