How do I cancel a declaration?
All you need to do is drop us a line at any time telling us you wish to cancel your declaration.
How do I know if I am a UK tax payer?
If you have a salary, savings in a bank and / or building society, investments or a pension you may well be a UK tax payer, so you can Gift Aid your donations.
Can I Gift Aid my donations if I am a higher rate tax payer?
Yes. Please complete the declaration. You can then personally claim tax relief on the difference between your higher rate tax and basic rate on your self assessment form.
Gift Aid Explained
What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a simple government initiative which allows us to increase the value of your donations at no extra cost to you. For every £1 you give to us we can get an extra 25 pence from the HMRC, helping your donation go further to help patients and their families.
During the next year if each donor said yes to Gift Aid we could raise an extra £125,000 to help patients and their families - so you can see why your help is so important to us.
Do I have to declare my donations to HMRC?
No, however if you payer the higher rate of tax you can personally claim tax relief on the difference between your higher rate tax and basic tax on your self assessment form.
If your income is below £10,000
What does it mean to Your RWTC, the registered Charity of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust?
For every £1 you donate, we claim an extra 25 pence from the HMRC, helping your donation go further. The table below shows the enormous difference this makes to us.
From 6 April 2014, the income tax personal allowance has increased to £10,000 for individuals born after 5 April 1948. If your income is below £10,000, you will no longer be able to claim Gift Aid on eligible donations. If this applies to you, please ensure all existing Gift Aid declarations are Cancelled. Failure to do so could mean that HMRC may recover the claimed Gift Aid back from you or, in some cases, the charity that received the donation.
Do company donations qualify for Gift Aid?
No. Companies can now claim all charitable donations as a deduction from their taxable profits. (Charities can no longer reclaim tax on company donations).
What do I have to do?
All you have to do is complete, tear off and return the simple Gift Aid Declaration within this flyer
return it to:
The
Gift Aid Declaration
Please complete all the sections of your Gift Aid declaration form and make your donations go further to help patients and their families.
⎕ I would like to increase my donation by claiming Gift Aid and would like The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity to treat all donations I have made in the last four years and until further notice as Gift Aid donations. I confirm that I have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all organisations that I donate to will reclaim on my gifts for that tax year. I understand that The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity will reclaim 25p of tax for every £1 that I donate & that it is my responsibility to let the Charity know if I am not longer paying sufficient tax to claim Gift Aid.
⎕ I can’t claim Gift Aid as I am not a UK Taxpayer
