ZOOBILEE RETURNS

Saturday, June 25, 2022 to Roger Williams Park Zoo!

PRESENTED BY

ROGER WILLIAMS PARK ZOO, PROVIDENCE, RI RHODE ISLAND ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY

Dear Zoobilee Guests, Welcome to one of our favorite evenings of the year! Zoobilee is back just in time to celebrate its 30th anniversary and we have some fun in store for you. Strolling the Zoo under a lush canopy of green, sampling delicious food and drink, perhaps encountering an animal or two – and meeting up to chat with friends and listen to music – we think it is a grand way to kick off the summer. By special arrangement, we also have the Asian Lantern Spectacular fully lit just for you! We are so thankful to the more than 30 restaurants, caterers and beverage purveyors who support Roger Williams Park Zoo by donating their service and their wonderful food and drink. You get to enjoy a great party, too, and it all combines to advance the Zoo’s mission to conserve wildlife and wild places. You may already know the Zoo supports and participates in programs that protect giraffes in Kenya, frogs in Chile, fish in Peru, and tree kangaroos in Papua New Guinea, in addition to protecting native New England species right here in Rhode Island. What you might not know is that YOU are helping make that happen right now by joining us for Zoobilee. How does it feel to be a hero? On the next few pages of this program, you will find acknowledgments of this event’s sponsors, including BankRI, our presenting sponsor. It is a genuine privilege to work in a community that so highly prioritizes its zoo as an educational and recreational institution along with being an advocate for wildlife. We humbly thank our sponsors and hope you will do the same when you have an opportunity. Finally, it is a pleasure to give a shout-out to our event Chair, Nancy Allen and the Zoobilee Committee for their energy, creativity, and perseverance. Their hard work combined with that of the RWPZoo staff team have produced such a festive gathering for an important purpose. Roger Williams Park Zoo celebrates its 150th birthday this year, and Zoobilee is one of the many opportunities we will take to remember that. Please stay tuned and join us as we honor the Zoo’s roots, enjoy tonight’s blessings, and look forward to a bright and energetic future. Cheers!

Indulge in delectable fine fare and refreshing drinks from the area’s best restaurant and beverage providers. Delight in the musical stylings by New England’s premiere party band Mystique and dance the night away. And journey through an awe-inspiring wonderland of handcrafted, silk-crafted lanterns aglow throughout the Zoo as Asian Lantern Spectacular shines bright all night long – lit exclusively for you, our Zoobilee guests! Best part of it all? Your attendance tonight helps support the Zoo’s world-class animal care, community education programs that inspire a connection to wildlife and wild places, and conservation initiatives here at home and across the globe. I would also like to take a moment to show our immense gratitude to those who made contributions to this beloved fundraiser including the participating restaurants and beverage providers who have graciously donated their food, drinks, and time during a year where many in the food industry have been deeply impacted. Many thanks to my fellow Zoobilee 2022 committee members, the Rhode Island Zoological Society Board of Trustees and all the organizations and individuals who have generously contributed to making this event a wild success. And last, but certainly not least, a heartfelt thank you to the incredible staff and passionate volunteers who dedicate their time and hard work to make this evening a fun and memorable experience for all. We appreciate the tremendous community support of this important fundraiser and our mission. On behalf of the whole Zoo family, welcome back and have a wild night! Warmest regards,

Nancy Allen Chair, Zoobilee 2022 P.S. The Zoo’s commitment to conserving wildlife and wild places starts with us, where we strive to use best practices to contribute to a healthier planet for all including this zero waste event.
