A collabration with the students of RVS aztechs and protovillage
WORKSHOP This Workshop was mainly introduced for the students to expose and live in a rural and sustainable lifestyle .The students worked on four different projects and also indulged in various other fragments of works.
Andhra Pradesh Protovillage ProtoVillage is a initiative started by Mr. Kalyan ,a space mainly envisioned for systemic solutions for rural resilience to be holistically co-created, diligently practiced, comprehensively demonstrated and openly shared. ProtoVillage is the prototype of a “Resilient” rural community built for the villagers, by the villagers. It is a center for learning, practice, demonstration and dissemination of the knowledge on how any community in this region can organise itself to be Resilient. It is a village which is self - reliant, Economically sustainable, Socially cohesive and Economically viable .

“I was so inspired by what I saw in the tribal communities. Their wisdom allowed them to live in synergy with their surroundings. I thought of demonstrating that kind of life based on three simple principles -- a deep respect for soil, air and water, inter-dependence and, as a result, self-reliance.”

EARTH BAG CONSTRUCTION Process
Quantitative relationship of the materials was being cognized and
maturity
to

materials was acquired .
As there are surplus of Lake sand which they have dug out for rainwater harvesting, those soil is used for constructing multifunctional space. -Earth bag is layed as layers filling the polypropylene bag with mixture of 15 bandly of moist lakesoil, half bandly of cement and ramped to make it flat. -Then barbed wires were laid which act as grooves to hold layers of bags stacked above. -Stone masonry was used on the corners as structural members to supporrt and dissipate the load of shallow dome.
MATERIALS EARTH BAGS Earth bags were filled with a mixture of soil, lime and cement.
SOIL The upper layer of earth typically consisting of a mixture of organic remains, clay, and rock particles.
LIME Lime is a truly versatile material widely used in the construction of buildings
CEMENT A cement is a binder, a substance used for construction that sets, hardens, and adheres to other materials to bind them together.
BARBER WIRE Barbed wires come in standard design of 2 ply 4 forks i.e. 2 stranded line wires and barbing wire consisting of 4 forks
LIME PLASTER Lime plaster is composed of sand, water, and lime, usually nonhydraulic hydrated lime.
Earth bags was plasteed several layers in order to create a consistent surface.

COMMUNITY KITCHEN Arch The project was intensively guided by Mr. Kalyan and the objective of the project
The work was so intense and monotonous
was to rectify the flaws made in the arches
but eventually our students got adopted to
of the community kitchen which was made
it . The process has two distinctive phases
out of stone masonry.
which includes demolition and construction
Our students had
great exposure to
materials like lime and stone, through the project. Demolition process Construction process
of the arches.
MATERIALS STONE Stone is an essential and more permanent building material in construction than other natural building materials.
LIME MORTAR Lime mortar is composed of lime and an aggregate such as sand, mixed with water. Lime mortar is a traditional building material, and is now only normally used for restoration, and repair of old buildings.
BRICK Typically made of Fired or sun-dried clay,
HOLLOW BLOCKS Hollow blocks are specially made for loadbearing walls, which are useful in reducing a dead load of masonry in buildings. Blocks can also be with cement and sand called cement-sand blocks or with cement and soil called soilcement blocks which are of low strength and use for low-cost construction
Arch The Process
Building the FRAMEWORK FOR THE ARCH
Demolition of arches made students indulge in making scaffolding and demolition phase was labour intensive and this method of construction is rudimentary and sturdy. Construction phase includes design and implementation of the design in various aspects of a catenary arch.
04 DORMITORY
DORMITORY MATERIALS USED -Concrete -Steel THE AGENDA OF THIS PROJECT IS TO CREATE A SPACE FOR THE STUDENTS OF MAYA BAZAAR TO REST. DESIGN HAS ESTABLISHED BY STUDENTS WITH HEXAGONAL FORM,THESE HEXAGONS ARE PLACED ADJACENT TO EACH OTHER. SITE WAS EXCAVATED ACCORDING TO PLAN AND FOUNDATION WAS LAID AND THE CONCRETE WAS MIXED MANUALLY BY THE STUDENTS . METAL FABRICATIONS LIKE I BEAMS WERE CUT AND

STRENGTHENING of EMBANKMENT
Pond overflow: Sudden downpour of overnight rains caused the water to seep through pores. Hence the strudents strengthened the earthen embankment using stone blocks and mud filling.
TRENCH RENOVATION OF POND
Amidst the hands-on practical works , the students also got an opportunity to put their hands on the facing wall of Maya bazaar and the kadappa stones lying on the sites. A beautiful mandala makeover was done to the wall that conveyed Peace and Integrity .

OVERCOMING FEARS MEDITATION SESSIONS
DEIVA BHARATHU I shared my anxiety over darkness and animals to Shobita mam. She suggested me to walk alone in darkness with help of torch till my staying place in proto village and pet the animals, stand still or Don’t mind when dog nears u. Taking her suggestion it was helpful for me to overcome my anxiety.
