Great Summer Escape

This summer is sure to be one for the newspapers. PRCF is committed to offering our campers ages 6-12 years old an enjoyable and enriching experience designed to stimulate curiosity and creativity, develop new interests, encourage exploration, and increase self-esteem and personal growth. Intertwined is a strong athletic program where children develop skills and tone muscles while learning to eat healthy, swim, play tennis and golf, hike and exercise under the watchful eyes of experienced instructors. An educational component and STEM is also built into the daily schedule.

Breakfast and lunch will be served daily at 9 a.m. and noon respectively courtesy of the USDA Summer Meals for Kids Federal Food program. Some activities and field trips may require an additional fee and permission slip. Pine Camp Summer Impact

Join us at Pine Camp Cultural Arts Center this summer for possibly one of the most well rounded summer experiences your camper could dream of! A collaboration between the City of Richmond’s Recreation and Cultural Arts department, campers will have a blast jumping into recreational activities like dodgeball, fencing, and James River excursions while also having the opportunity to take the stage and shine with theater, dance, music, and arts classes. Each camp session will culminate with a small showing of “Jungle Book, Kids” and family field day! Breakfast and lunch provided. Richmond’s Page to Stage Summer Theater Intensive

Join us at Hickory Hill Community Center for the City of Richmond’s Page to Stage Theater Intensive! In collaboration with The New Theatre, this summer intensive will offer teens a hands on, high quality, professional summer theater experience culminating in a final production of Peter and the Starecatcher”, the “Peter Pan” origin story, at the Dogwood Dell Amphitheater. Through six weeks of training, campers will learn the ins and outs of putting on a full scale theater production - both on stage and behind the scenes- through collaboratively building every aspect of the show from the sets and costumes to the staging and dance. Summer Dance Intentsive

The City Dance Program Summer Dance Intensive is a fun interactive dance camp that will intensively introduce the students to Ballet, Jazz, Modern, African, Lyrical, Tap and Hip-Hop dance genres. Students will work diligently over the course of 6 weeks with professional dance artist. Our mission is to provide a complete dance training of the highest quality, while remaining accessible and affordable. The program is designed to help each student prepare for his or her chosen goals in life, and to enable them the become productive citizens of the future by means of selfdiscipline, enhancement of learning skills and physical well-being. At the end of the camp, parents will be treated to a culminating event! Nature Film Camp

Jump in and learn the art of outdoor filmmaking! In a team of three to four campers, you’ll create your own adventure movie. Learn to write and film the epic adventure in the Pine Camp Forest. Play forest games, do stream walks, and get muddy during scavenger hunts using a compass and a GPS. During the second session, campers will wear multiple hats as a director, videographer, actor, and screenwriter. You’ll work with professional cameras and be mentored by local filmmakers. We’ll also play improv games, forest games, cook with a Dutch oven, make props, and do wild scavenger hunts. Summer Quest Teen Camp

Parents, is your child too old for day camp but too young to be left alone? Are you hearing, “I don’t want to go to camp, I just want time to hang out!” The Summer Quest Camp gives teens ages 12 1/2 - 14 an alternative to just staying home or hanging out unsupervised. This program shows young people that it is “OK” to still be a kid and to be involved in positive organizations at an age where peer pressure is strong. CarMax Summer Basketball Camp

Does your child live, breath, and just love basketball? Then, this is the camp for them! Our CarMax Summer Basketball League has expanded into the CarMax Summer Basketball Camp and League for 2022. Players that are enrolled in this camp will also participate in an intermural 3 on 3 league in the evenings. Both breakfast and lunch will be provided.
