Swim Lessons

The objective of the “Learn to Swim” courses are to teach children, teens, and adults to be safe in, on, and around the water and to swim well. Aquatic and personal water safety skills are taught in a logical progression through six levels. PRCF teaches swim lessons for preschoolers (ages 3-4 years) and those that are ages 5 years and over for levels 1 and 2. Participants are encouraged to sign up for the appropriate level based on their level of swimming ability. There may be a time where a participant is switched to a different class depending on their ability.

Registration for all “Learn to Swim” classes will take place online. Unfortunately, the Aquatics Division is unable to hold spaces due to previous enrollment, age, group, or level of the child. Each class is on a first come, first served basis until all classes and levels are full. Please note that class availability are subject to change. Classes are also subject to be cancelled as a result of inclement weather. We will work to schedule make up classes, however there may be times that classes will not be made up.

City Dance Program

The City Dance Program offers complete training in a wide variety of dance disciplines and related movement for children aged three years and up, beginners through advanced levels. Children’s classes run all year, so that the young dancers can take time to achieve mastery over their chosen dance form.

Classes are age appropriate and based on the developmental needs of each student. The more advanced classes are graded on experience and natural abilities. Students can choose from the regular class schedule or the intensive program, which is designed for the more serious dancer.

Dance Attire:

For girls, sky blue or black leotard is preferred, with pink tights and pink leather ballet shoes. No cover-ups please. A chiffon dance skirt is permitted, and MUST be worn around the child’s natural waist. For boys, a white tee shirt, navy blue fitted shorts, black ballet shoes, and white socks or a black tank-top leotard and jazz pants with white ballet shoes.

Of Note:

If your child is 4 years old and has completed a full year of Kinderdance, they will move up to Pre-Ballet I the following season. However, if your child is 5 years old and new to our program with no prior ballet experience, they will begin in Kinderdance to ensure they build a solid foundation. Our ballet program follows a structured progression to support proper skill development. Each level is designed to introduce and strengthen age-appropriate techniques, ensuring your child is confident and well-prepared as they advance.
