Sign Ups: All sign ups are through Golf Genius prompted by the Golf Assistant. All sign ups for the month of August will open on July 30th at 12:00PM.

Format:

Players will be flighted in this Matchplay Event. Players will then do head to head against someone in their flight. Strokes will only count towards your match on each hole. You will either win, tie, or lose the hole in match play. During this event you may concede putts to your playing partner and or concede the hole at any time.

1.Hole-by-Hole Scoring: Instead of counting strokes, you compare your score on each hole to your opponent's. The golfer with the lower score on a particular hole wins that hole. For example, if you score a 5 on the hole and your opponent scores a 7, then you win the hole and you’re one up. It doesn’t matter how many strokes you beat them by on the hole, there’s only one point per hole.

2.Winning the Match: To win the match, you must win more holes than your opponent. Once you've won enough holes to secure victory (for example, if you're ahead by more holes than there are remaining), the match ends.

3.Ties: In match play, ties on individual holes can result in "halved" holes, meaning no one wins that particular hole. Halved holes don't affect the outcome of the match.

Handicaps: 100% of your Handicap will be used for this team net event.

Wednesday, August 13, 18-Hole League

Time: Tuesday: A, B, *Senior (18-Hole League), Tee Times start at 8:00am A, B (9-Hole League), Tee Times start at 9:00am Wednesday: *Senior, B, A, Tee Times start at 8:00am

(*Senior Play: There must be at least four players registered for the competition, or the Golf Committee will decide how less than four may compete. Net scores, Play from Forward Tees).

Sign-Up: All sign-ups are through Golf Genius prompted by the Golf Assistant’s email link on Wednesday, July 9. Deadline to sign-up is August 1.

Eligibility: No less than one week prior to the event, 9-Hole entrants must have recorded at least five 9-Hole rounds at RLCC in 2025. No less than one week prior to the event, 18-Hole entrants must have recorded at least five 18-Hole rounds at RLCC in 2025. Regular 18-Hole League players may only enter the 18-Hole event. Regular 9Hole League players and Regular Golf Members may enter the 18-Hole event with at least five 18-Hole rounds recorded at RLCC in 2025. Senior competition entrants must be aged 65 and above.

Scoring and the Scorecard: There is one scorecard per player. Player 1 scores for Player 2. Player 2 scores for Player 3, etc. Each player should keep her own unofficial scorecard to ensure accuracy. To avoid discrepancies, it is suggested that all players, upon reaching the green, announce the number of strokes they are laying. This is extremely helpful especially on the long holes. Each player must attest her own scorecard at the end of the round. Scorecards should be returned to the Pro at the Scoreboard when they are signed and attested. Each competitor should understand that she alone is responsible for the accuracy of the score recorded for her on each hole.

Rules of Play: All USGA rules will govern play. If there is a concern about a rule while out on the golf course, play a second ball. Record the score for BOTH BALLS on your scorecard. Confer with the Golf Assistant at the end of the round. The Golf Assistant will determine which ball was played correctly, and which score the player has for that hole. DO NOT SIGN your scorecard until a decision has been made.

Abnormal Ground Condition Local Rule: If your ball is in a tire mark/Road Rash area, and it interferes with your stance or swing, you may take 1 club length, free relief, no closer to the hole. You MUST call over your competitors and they must agree that you should qualify for relief BEFORE you take relief or touch your ball.

*Honors Golf: Play honors golf, unless your group is a hole or more behind. It is then acceptable to play ready golf until you catch up with the group in front of you. Always play honors golf on the tee box. If there was a tie, the last order of honor will hold until the tie is broken. (*In stroke play, the person with the lowest gross score on the previous hole is given the right; or honor, to hit first on the next tee.)

Pace-of-Play: Out of respect for all participants in this event, please keep play moving. Encourage one another to maintain a respectable pace-of-play (4 hours for 18Holes and 2 hours for 9-Holes). Times posted on the scorecard indicate when the hole should be completed. As long as there is a group following yours, you have a responsibility to the field to respect their pace-of-play as well as your own.

Format: 18-Hole Stroke Play Tournament for the 9-Hole League and 36-Hole Stroke Play Tournament for the 18-Hole League. Caddies may be hired in advance. Reserve with the starter one week before the competition.
