Dear Members: Welcome to the 2023 Ruth Lake Medley Calcutta. Please take a few minutes to look over the information in this booklet. In it you will find the schedule of events, tournament information, rules of play, and a list of all of the flights competing this year.

Best of Luck and enjoy the Medley Calcutta.

9:10 am - Better Ball of Partners (Shotgun Start)

11:30 am - Modified Chapman (Shotgun Start)
2:00 pm - Combined Net (Shotgun Start)

Shootout to follow

Tournament Format

27 Holes (3-9 Hole Events).
1st Nine - Better Ball of Partners
2nd Nine - Modified Chapman
3rd Nine - Combined Net

In the Better Ball of Partners and Combined Net format, players will receive 50% of their actual handicap on each nine. Half shots apply. In the Modified Chapman format, 30% of the lower players handicap + 20% of the higher players handicap for a team handicap.
Modified Chapman - Both players tee off. Player A plays Player B’s tee shot and vice versa. After both players second shots, the team must decide which ball to complete the hole playing alternate shot. If Player A last hit the selected ball, it would be Player B’s turn.

All play will be from the II tees: Any player wishing to use any other set of tees may do so and their Handicap will be adjusted.

Exception: Any player whose handicap is established from a set of tees other than II Tees, may choose to play those tees and have their handicap adjusted accordingly, but must let us know ahead of time.

Pay Outs

All payouts will be in cash and will be awarded as follows in each flight:
• 1st and 2nd Place in each 9 Hole Event
• 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place for Overall in each flight
• 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Place in Shootout
Ties for Overall will be broken by 3rd nine score, 2nd nine score, 1st nine score.
Ties for each event will be broken by lowest handicap hole and so on.
