Courses are offered in seminar style format, with 6-7 students in each class The Ph D program is offered in-person only, with classes offered during the day There are no weekend or evening options All Ph.D. students complete a 73-credit program:

n 48 course credits

n Research internship

n Written qualifying exam

n Dissertation proposal

n Dissertation

S U P P O R T F O R F U L L - T I M E

P H . D . S T U D E N T S

Full-time students are provided with generous financial support to conduct research with faculty. Funding is guaranteed for five years and covers a stipend, tuition and fees, and health insurance Additional funding for conference travel and dissertation research expenses is also available. Ph.D. students can gain valuable teaching experience in our Master of Social Work (MSW) and Bachelor of Social Work (BASW) programs

To apply, complete the admission application at gradstudy rutgers edu and include the following:

n Undergraduate and graduate official transcripts

n Three letters of recommendation from faculty or similar professionals

n Personal statement about research background and research interests

n Tests of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for international students

n Application fee

Unless applying to the combined MSW/Ph D program, applicants should hold an MSW or related MSW degree
