Dr. Veretennikov is fluent in Russian and actively working towards

Originally from Central Asia, Sergey Veretennikov immigrated to the town of Manteca, CA at age 13, where he completed high school. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior from UC Davis.

Dr. Veretennikov is a proud graduate of the University of California, Davis School of Medicine. He completed the Family Medicine Residency Program with Dignity Health at Methodist Hospital.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the International Kid’s Festival! This is a great opportunity for kids, both big and small, to get out and have little bit of fun in a beautiful setting. Thank you for being here.

As a Sacramento County Supervisor, I see firsthand the value of investing in our youngest residents and having these events brings the community together, which pays dividends to all our wellbeing. Kids need opportunities to be kids and I’m so happy to be able to be here amongst so many smiling faces.

I’d also like to thank Russian American Media, Community Academy Outreach and the Council for Cross Cultural Affairs for putting on today’s event, as well as all of the sponsors for their support. There are opportunities for interaction, burning some energy and maybe even learning a little bit about cultures different from our own.

Days like this allow all of us who are young at heart to get out and enjoy a little bit of adventure, a little bit of wonderment and a whole lot of joy. I hope to meet many of you out and about partaking

COMMUNITY OUTREACH ACADEMY is a charter school that was started based on the need of the Slavic community to fully integrate ourselves into our new environment without losing where we came from and who we are fundamentally. Over the last 14 months, we have proven repeatedly that our core mission is being implemented and tested. Because of the terrible war in Ukraine, we have accepted a large influx of refugee families who fled the war in hopes of a better and safer life and future. Upon arrival to the US, these families were hit with a huge culture shock. Everything is different here: new culture, new systems for nearly everything, and it can all be very scary. When they found COA, they were able to find, at least a little bit of, a reprieve. To many families and students, it felt close to home. They were able to freely communicate with fellow students in their home language, receive the help they so desperately needed. I am proud of the community we have built here at COA and to have the ability to help so many people during the scariest time of their lives.

We are honored to be a part of the International Kids Festival hosted by Russian American Media and are proud to partner with them on many occasions over the last several years. This wonderful event is an excellent opportunity to showcase the Slavic Community we are so proud to be a part of. It is a privilege to work alongside Sergey Ivannikov and his amazing team once again.

Anna values growing a beautiful family above all of her other achievements. She believes that strong families make strong communities. Her passion is to raise healthy individuals at all cost. Developing God given gifts to her children is the biggest priority. She’s a soccer mom to three sons. Her sons play in Elite Academy level soccer teams.

Together with her husband Ruslan, Anna is raising four beautiful children and serving as pastors in multiple ministries that benefit local communities. She’s an accomplished woman in leadership. Activating people to live out their purpose and destiny.

She has earned a Master's Degree in Human Resources, teaching at GCC schools, and serves for many years as a President of School Site Council at Community Outreach Academy, one of the most prominent charter schools that focuses on Diversity in the greater Sacramento area.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build, educate, optimize, and sustain total cardiac care to children worldwide. We partner with leaders, organizations, hospitals, and health care professionals to develop a local team of specialists able to diagnose, operate, and care for children with congenital heart defects. We are dedicated to building and improving the skills, knowledge, technology, and experience of local health-care specialists in areas of the world without access to diagnostic and curative pediatric cardiac care.

Your support allows us to bring Total Cardiac Care to children everywhere.

Congenital Heart Disease (CHD), the most common congenital birth defect, has long been known as one of the main causes of death in the first year of life worldwide. Some 90% are denied treatment or receive suboptimal care, and up to 80% of cases are not diagnosed until advanced or irreversible stages of heart failure. Without treatment, 1 in 3 babies will die within their first month. Access to care for these children is not equal for all, depending on the countries of origin and regions of the world. Tremendous amount of work remains to be done to improve availability of diagnosis, therapeutic interventions and critical care for children with congenital heart defects.
