Birthday Parties

Celebrate your child’s birthday at the Healthplex. Mix and match different activities for their special day. Suggested Birthday Party Themes: In the pool: Under the Sea, Mermaids and Pirates, Shark Bite. In the gym: All-Sports, Basketball, Soccer, Floor Hockey, Super Hero. Parents may bring cake and/or cupcakes. Parties need to be booked at least two weeks in advance to ensure space. Birthday party package option includes: • Saturday or Sunday parties from 12:30 to 3 p.m. or 3:30 to 6 p.m. Includes 60 minutes for party room and 90 minutes for activities.

Additional time may be added for a fee. • 15 guests (including the birthday child) • Additional guests $15 per person.

Lock-Ins and Group Rentals

Planning your group’s next night out or day outing? Have a school or scout group looking for a personalized event? The Healthplex offers a unique venue with a large array of activities. Select between 1 and 6 options, including rock climbing and swimming, and work with staff to develop the ideal schedule that fit your event’s needs. Food: Pizza & drinks — additional $5/per participant

Supplies included: Setup and staff to lead activities, tables and chairs for the event, tablecloths, paper products, gym supplies. Activities to choose from: swimming, rock climbing, tennis, pickleball, badminton, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, kickball, dodgeball, soccer, flag football and more. Lock-In Options • Saturday evening to Sunday morning, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. • Participants: 30 minimum/150 maximum • Required chaperone ratio is 1:6. Aqua Adult Fitness Classes

Ageless Aqua Ideal for any age, this class focuses on light cardio conditioning, basic strengthening and flexibility. Aqua Boot Camp Designed to improve cardio conditioning, this higherintensity class alternates between strength, balance and core training segments. Perfect for anyone wanting to maintain or increase their current fitness level with less impact on joints. Aqua Taiji This class adapts classic Taiji motions consisting of gentle, fluid, graceful, circular movements performed in a slow, continuous manner. Particularly appropriate for anyone with balance, hip, knee or ankle problems. Arthritis Plus This all-age aquatic program is designed for persons with varying degrees of arthritis. Range of motion and endurance exercises will strengthen muscles and joints. Cardio Splash This class uses the resistance of the water to improve cardiovascular fitness, increase endurance and improve flexibility. Good Moves For Every Body This is the class for those looking to feel better, especially individuals with fibromyalgia or post rehab. It emphasizes stretching, body awareness, core stabilization, general conditioning and having fun. H2O Combo This complete cardiovascular workout will challenge the heart, sculpt the body and burn calories. Wave Circuit This water class combines cardio intervals with aquatic resistance training. Wet Walkers This water walking class uses water resistance to create a multi-level impact, effective cardio workout.

Aqua Kids Learn to Swim

Winter 1 Dates: January 3 – February 12 (6-week session) Registration opens December 6

Winter 2 Dates: February 14 – March 26 (6-week session) Registration opens January 17 The Rush Copley Healthplex Kids Learn to Swim program is designed for children of all ages and allows swimmers to progress at their own pace. Lessons take place in our lap pool or warm therapy pool.

Family members may observe class on the first day, mid-session and last day only, unless the Aquatics manager has approved special accommodations in advance. Swim lessons are non-refundable.

Learn to Swim Class Levels

Water Babies/Parent-Tot Water Babies (6 months to 2 years) Focus is on water adjustment, safety skills and a great time to bond with your child. One parent per child per day may participate.

Parent-Toddler (2 to 3 ½ years) Children will learn exploration and basic propulsion skills through water play. A great time to bond with your child. One parent per child per day may participate.

Preschool (3 ½ to 5 years) Preschool 1 Students will explore the water and learn to be comfortable in aquatic environments. They will learn the basic ideas of floating and airway control. Prerequisite: Mentally ready to participate without a parent present.

Preschool 2 Students will perfect their front and back glides and add arm paddles and kicks with the glides. Rolling and treading water will be introduced. Prerequisite: Submerge completely and blow bubbles, float on back and front with minimal support.

Preschool 3 Students will coordinate the front and back crawl strokes. They will learn the elementary backstroke and treading water. Safety skills will be reinforced. Prerequisite: Able to swim independently 15 yards on front and back.

Youth (6 to 13 years) Youth Level 1 Students will explore the water and learn to be comfortable in aquatic environments. They will learn front and back floats, glides and proper air control.

Youth Level 2 Students will perfect their front and back glides and add arm paddles and kicks with the glides. They will learn to swim 10 yards with rolling for air when needed. Back crawl and treading water will be introduced. Prerequisite: Submerge completely and blow bubbles. Float and glide on front and back by themselves.

Youth Level 3 Students will coordinate the front and back crawl strokes and will learn the elementary backstroke and treading water. Safety skills will be reinforced. Prerequisite: Swim 10 yards on front rolling to back for air when needed. Swim 10 yards on back using arms and legs to propel.

Youth Level 4 Students will build and improve on the front crawl, back crawl and elementary backstroke. They will be introduced to the breast stroke and side stroke and turns at the wall. Prerequisite: Swim front crawl, back crawl and elementary backstroke for 25 yards each and tread water for 30 seconds.

Youth Level 5 Students will refine and improve endurance in the front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke and elementary backstroke. They will learn the butterfly stroke and flip turns. Prerequisite: Swim 50 yards of front crawl, back crawl and elementary backstroke, 25 yards of breaststroke and sidestroke and tread water for 2 minutes.

Junior Stroke (6 to 13 years) Students will continue to refine all strokes to perform with more ease, efficiency, power and smoothness. They will learn the fundamentals of personal water safety. This class is intended to help students develop an interest in lifelong fitness and help them prepare for advanced aquatic activities such as competitive swimming or lifeguard training. Prerequisite: Swim all strokes well for 50 yards and tread water for 5 minutes.

Mini Masters (6 to 13 years) Ages 6 to 13 years: This class is a coached workout that will train swimmers through a series of drills. Students will learn the fundamentals of swimming as a lifelong fitness activity. This class is perfect for the young swimmer who would like to improve strength and endurance and has an overall love for swimming. Prerequisite: Swim 50 yards of front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke and be familiar with the butterfly stroke.

Swim Fit for Teens (10 to 16 years) The focus of this class is to maintain swimming skills while improving endurance and a lifelong love for swimming. Prerequisite: Swim 100 yards each of front crawl and back crawl continuously.
