About the Company

We have specialised in the manufacture and mail order of medals, trophies and mementoes since 1988, deriving our name, ‘Running Imp’, from the Lincoln Imp, a stone carving found in Lincoln’s historic Cathedral.

Incredibly, 2025 will mark 37 years since my father founded Running Imp in January 1988, little did he imagine that it would have grown into the market leader in our field that it has today.

VE DAY 80th Anniversary

When VE DAY dawns on 8th May 2025, it will be 80 years since the guns fell silent at the end of the war in Europe. Years of carnage and destruction had come to an end, and millions of people took to the streets to celebrate peace and mourn their loved ones.

We are very proud to be supplying the finisher’s medals to some of the world’s greatest mass participation events including the TCS London Marathon and the AJ Bell Great North Run.

But whether it’s a large city event, village fun run, or a commemoration, no occasion is too large, but more importantly too small. The 80th anniversary will provide our nation and our friends around the world, with an opportunity to reflect on the enormous sacrifice, courage and determination of people from all walks of life who saw us through this dark and terrifying period.

It will be an opportunity for us all to remember the enormous sacrifices that were made at home and abroad, and to joyously celebrate as people did 80 years ago, the arrival of peace in Europe.

Whilst every effort will be made to fulfil any FREE Engraving required, to ensure this, it is advisable that ‘Coins’ are ordered as early as possible. Past experience has shown that in the 2 or 3 weeks leading up to the celebrations, whilst ‘Coins’ can still be delivered on time, the sheer volume of orders placed has prohibited us from fulfilling all engraving requirements.
