I am a 20 year old Singaporean aspiring architect and urban designer seeking to learn and expand my references in this architectural and design field. I am passionate about the manipulation of form to create unique spatial experiences. I started my architecture journey in Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore where i graduated with a Diploma with Merit in the Interior Architecture and Design course. I continued to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in the National University of Singapore. I have a strong interest in design development on an urban scale, real estate and infracstructure, graphics and modelmaking. I am a fast and adaptable learner, always seeking the best solution for a project. I am glad to share with you my past works.

REGISTRY OF MARRIAGES Location: 7 Canning Rise, Singapore Year: Diploma Y2S1, 2019 Category: Hospitality and Workplace
The existing Registry of Marriages (ROM) is not well integrated in Fort Canning. The interior feels very isolated from the surrounding nature which has created the unnecessary stifling formality in the main lobby. Instead of opening up views to the surrounding, landscape is introduced on the interior so as to create an illusion of an outdoor setting. The extensive use of organic forms was inspired by nature, supported by the main circulation paths in the space, aiming to create direct circulation paths for the users. Through materiality and forms, visual connections are maximised. Through these voids, light is invited into the space to guide users to the various programs, relying on intuition to guide people through a jungle.

DIE LEERE OFFICE Location: Paya Lebar Quarters, Singapore Year: Diploma Y2S2, 2019 Category: Sustainable Workplace
Die Leere is a co-working office visualised for a Singapore-based German sustainable windtechnology company that is looking to develop new methods of recycling old wind turbine parts. Die Leere translates to “emptiness”. The design intention is to find new purposes for ‘dead’ spaces such as voids and circulation paths while utilizing old turbines’ materials in the site. With the concept of a collaborative and transparent work culture, flexible workspaces are created with the use of suspended cantilevered bridges. From collaborative-client meeting areas on Level 6 to small-sized private suites and hot-desking areas on Level 7, users are encouraged to work comfortably in their preferred setting. The layout of the bridges is also designed to promote accidental interactions, sparking unexpected conversations.

CENTRE FOR INTERFAITH AND HIGHER LEARNING INSTITUTION Location: 51 Bencoolen Street, Singapore Year: Diploma Y3S1, 2020 Category: Sacred Education The Centre for Interfaith and Higher Learning Institution (CIHL) is a college for post-graduate religious scholars. Their goal is to promote awareness of better understanding and tolerance amongst all religions and to encourage peace and harmony in Singapore and the world. The design aims to find a balance between the sacred and the secular and explore possible synergies that can aid the CIHL interfaith scholars towards improving inclusiveness and connection with each other, as well as the world, using circular geometry concepts and organic free-flowing elements. Sacred geometry is a complex system of symbols that represent space, time, and form associated with a belief or god in a religion. It is an illustration of the spiritual connection. Sacred spaces are recognisable because of the specific elements linked to the older religious buildings. However, the modernism style does not allow for the intricate details; functions are often kept open-ended. HAIKI VILLAGE - ELDERLY KAMPONG Location: 505 Beach Road, Singapore Year: Diploma Y3S2, 2021, Thesis Project Category: Mixed Use Public Space
The Covid-19 pandemic has worsened the mental health and wellness of seniors residing in the Beach road estate. This project aims to design an urban kampong that encourages social interaction to allow the elderly residents to be comfortable in their own neighbourhood so as to help them adjust to the new norm. The design is heavily influenced by the traditional kampong structure and its environment. In contrast to the large park spaces around the site, smaller pockets of green spaces are introduced to create a more intimate and familiar space. The key features are the dynamic roof design and the two distinct triple volume voids. The roof is inspired by the layered pitched roofs in kampong houses that allowed for natural ventilation through the clerestory openings at the sides. The roof design caters accordingly to the two voids and the programs around them.

WORK EXPERIENCES Location: WY-TO Architects, SG, Provolk Architects Year: July - October 2020, April - May 2021 Job Title: Intern - Assistant Architectural Designer
We are “pro-people”, seeking to design sensitively for people, provoke the status quo and preserve memories in our rapidly changing environment, with architectural and interior projects spanning regionally and locally. We are now living in exciting times where Singapore is progressing into the next century of growth and we see this as an opportunity to recalibrate, rethink and repurpose. We therefore aspire to look beyond the pressures of intensification and underscore new values that rejuvenated spaces bring. This is how we see ourselves designing for people and provoking the status quo. My job scope entails assisting designers in making visualisation slides, renders, diagrams, etc., drawing of 2D CAD plans and sections, 3D modelling on SketchUp, occasional site visits, as well as making physical models and documenting them. In the recent years, Provolk Architects have merged with WY-TO Architects in light to take on a broader range of projects. After my internship at Provolk Architects, I was hired after my graduation to work at WY-TO Architects, mainly under the supervision of Jonathan Poh.
