Josh Urban is a speaker, musician, disc jockey, and musicologist. He's hosted radio and podcast programs, played and taught guitar professionally for nearly twenty years, and is an enthusiastic collector of recordings from around the world

Outing to Humpback Rocks National Park

Join us for an exciting outing to Humpback Rocks National Park, where you'll explore scenic hiking trails, learn about the local flora and fauna, and delve into the area’s rich cultural and ecological history As you hike the famous Humpback Rocks trail, enjoy breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley while discovering the significance of the land to early settlers and Native American tribes. Mill Mountain Zoo is located within Mill Mountain Park, a beautiful 568acre regional park which is maintained by Roanoke Parks and Recreation. Located at the top of Mill Mountain just off the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, the zoo overlooks the city of Roanoke and the surrounding mountain vistas The zoo was founded in 1952 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit operated by the Blue Ridge Zoological Society Our mission at the Mill Mountain Zoo is to promote an appreciation and understanding of wildlife and habitat preservation through the use of quality exhibits and educational programs, and to work in cooperation with other animal conservation programs.

During the Decathlon your community will compete against other RUI communities to see who will take home the RUI University Academic Decathlon Trophy. This is a no-elimination tournament after each game we will tally your score The community with the most points after the three rounds win!
