A WORD FROM OUR VICE PRESIDENT OF HR, PEOPLE OPERATIONS & CULTURE DEAR TEAM, As we close out the third quarter of 2026, I am filled with gratitude for our people and the incredible culture we continue to build together. Every day, I see the dedication, compassion, and commitment you bring to our residents, families, and each other. It is your care, talent, and teamwork that make RUI such a special place. This quarter, I had the opportunity to visit our communities and spend time with many of you. What stood out most is the pride you take in your work, the support you show one another, and the strong sense of community that lives within RUI. Whether you are welcoming a new team member, going above and beyond for a resident, recognizing a coworker, or simply being there when support is needed, you are creating an environment where people feel valued, respected, and inspired. Our mission is clear: to deliver a lifestyle that our residents have earned and deserve. Bringing that mission to life starts with our people and the culture we create together. Our values guide how we do that every day: Integrity is the Key, No
Detail is Too Small, Trust is Earned Each and Everyday, Excellence in All We Do, Genuine Care and Concern, Respect and Value Individuality, Inspiring Growth and Purpose for Life, Taking Responsibility, and You Are Important. These are more than words, they are reflected in how we serve, lead, collaborate, and care for one another. As we move into the fourth quarter, there is so much to look forward to. Our 3rd Annual RUI Spirit Week gives us the chance to celebrate our teams, showcase our creativity, and have some fun together. Open Enrollment will provide an opportunity to review your benefits and make the best choices for you and your family for 2027. And the holiday season will soon be here - a time filled with celebrations, traditions, and opportunities to create meaningful moments with our residents and each other. As we finish 2026, I encourage each of us to continue building the kind of culture where people feel seen, appreciated, supported, and connected to our purpose. Culture is created in the everyday moments - how we welcome someone new, recognize great work, respond to a challenge, support a teammate, and make each person feel important. Thank you for everything you do to make RUI a place where people thrive. Let’s finish 2026 strong, together, with continued focus on our people, our culture, our values, and the incredible impact we make every day.
SINCERELY,

AWARD WINNING TEAM MEMBERS GODFRED BAISEL 2026 DIRECTOR OF NURSING OF THE YEAR Awarded by the Virginia Healthcare Association/Virginia Center for Assisted Living For nearly two decades, Godfred has been an invaluable part of our organization, bringing his expertise, leadership, and heart to the communities he serves. Since joining us in 2008, he has made a lasting impact at communities including Aarondale and, now, The Wellington at Lake Manassas, where he serves as Director of Clinical Services. Godfred leads with a combination of clinical excellence and genuine compassion. He sets high standards while creating a positive, supportive environment where team members feel inspired to bring their best every day. He leads with heart, advocates with purpose, and consistently inspires those around him to pursue excellence in everything they do. It is this dedication, leadership, and commitment to exceptional care that makes Godfred so deserving of being named Director of Nursing of the Year. This award is a reflection of the impact he has made, not only on the residents and families he serves, but also on the team members he leads and inspires each day.
Congratulations, Godfred, on this well-deserved recognition!
JOSHUA HAYNES 2026 CAREGIVER OF THE YEAR Awarded by the Virginia Assisted Living Association We are incredibly proud to celebrate Josh Haynes from our Bay Lake community, who has been named the 2026 Caregiver of the Year by the Virginia Assisted Living Association (VALA)! Since joining our team in 2017 as a CNA in our Inspiritás Memory Care neighborhood, Josh has embodied what it means to care with compassion, purpose, and heart. Throughout his career, he has continued to grow professionally, earning his RMA license while remaining deeply committed to the residents and families he serves. What makes Josh truly exceptional goes far beyond his professional accomplishments. He takes the time to know each resident - the little things that make them smile, what brings them comfort, and what makes their days brighter. He gives families peace of mind and is the kind of teammate everyone can depend on: positive, knowledgeable, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Congratulations, Josh, on this well-deserved recognition!

INSPIRITÁS TOUCHPOINT Meet Stacy McGraw, Inspiritás Director at Paul Spring Exceptional memory care begins with seeing the person before the diagnosis. At Paul Spring, Inspiritás Director Stacy McGraw brings that people-centered philosophy to life each day through compassionate leadership and meaningful connections with residents and families. From the moment Stacy joined RUI, her compassion, warmth, and approachability were evident. She quickly formed natural connections with residents across Assisted Living and Inspiritás—starting conversations, listening attentively, and taking the time to help each person feel comfortable and valued. Her motivation is deeply personal: Stacy views this work not simply as a job, but as an opportunity to use her compassion to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents and families. Stacy brings extensive senior-living experience to that commitment. Before joining RUI, she served as an Activities Director and held combined responsibilities in administration, engagement, and caregiving. Her background spans memory care, sensory engagement, music, reminiscence, wellness, resident clubs, community partnerships, volunteer programs, and one-on-one engagement. Stacy’s impact is especially clear in the experiences shared by residents and families. One resident, though only beginning to know her, said that “she has already made a wonderful impression” and described her as welcoming, approachable, and willing to listen. Another resident offered a simple but meaningful example: “She is great. She takes Lee for walks.” A family member shared that conversations with Stacy have brought reassurance during the difficult transition of moving their mother into a senior living community. These moments—a conversation, a walk, the simple act of listening—may seem small, but together they reflect the heart of Inspiritás: knowing the individual, building trust, and creating meaningful connections that help residents and families feel they belong.

EXCELLENCE IN LEADERSHIP Our Operations, Sales, and Clinical Directors came together for an inaugural mid-year strategy meeting. Attendees participated in engaging panel discussions, brainstormed innovative initiatives, and shared valuable best practices and insights. This time together fostered collaboration, sparked new ideas, and provided each attendee with valuable resources and relationships to carry forward. We’re excited to see how these conversations and shared insights continue to make an impact!
The Life Enrichment Directors from RUI communities came together in Richmond in August to collaborate, strategize, and dream up new ideas to elevate the resident experience in 2027. When you get a team like this together, there is always magic in the air! With endless creativity, the team composed an entire year of special events, RUI University themes, RUIGivesBack community service initiatives, and much more. We are really looking forward to seeing these ideas come to life!

RUI BUILT: Ashleigh at Lansdowne marked a new chapter as the first community designed and built from the ground up entirely from RUI’s vision. From the moment you arrive, the building makes a striking first impression. Its graceful symmetry and welcoming grand porte-cochère create an inviting sense of arrival, while crisp white columns and a warm, light-brown brick exterior establish the refined character that continues throughout the community. Inside, a palette of sophisticated, neutral tones creates an atmosphere that feels both timeless and welcoming. Every space has been thoughtfully designed to maximize natural light, complemented by soaring ceilings and carefully considered architectural details. From its stately exterior to the smallest interior details, Ashleigh at Lansdowne showcases a thoughtful approach to design that blends classic elegance with the warmth and comfort that make a community feel like home.
HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE ASHLEIGH ACES? This resident volleyball team at Ashleigh at Lansdowne is the back-to-back-to-back champion of the Loudoun Senior Interest Network seated volleyball tournament. That’s right - the Ashleigh Aces have claimed the championship three years in a row, and they’re showing no signs of slowing down! This fiercely competitive crew comes prepared with dedicated practices, red-hot branded jerseys, and a loyal roster of residents who bring their A-game every time they take the court. Each tournament brings teams from local senior living communities together for a day of spirited competition. Led by Coach Sean Kenney, Life Enrichment Director, the Aces sharpen their skills in the RUI Fit gym. And once that balloon goes into the air, you could hear a pin drop - the focus is that serious! The next tournament is quickly approaching at the end of October.
Send the Ashleigh Aces some good luck as they go for championship number four! rui.net

This year’s National Assisted Living Week put the spotlight on our team’s incredible creativity, and our communities truly took center stage!
Inspired by the national theme, “Shining Through the Years,” assisted living communities across the country celebrated National Assisted Living Week in September. Our communities embraced the theme transforming our communities into a true cinematic celebration, giving our residents the full movie-star treatment they deserve. From all-day movie marathons in community theaters to a glamorous 1920s Silver Screen Supper Club, complete with flapper dresses and old-Hollywood flair, our communities pulled out all the stops. Every event, activity, and detail brought a little more glamour to the week and created memories worthy of the big screen. It was true movie magic!
15
RUInsights Vol. 8
Most importantly, the week brought together the people who make our communities shine — residents, families, friends, community partners, and our incredible team members. Together, they created moments of joy, connection, and celebration that reminded us what senior living is all about - meaningful moments. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED MAKE THIS AN OSCAR-WORTHY WEEK!
