RUInsights Volume 3

A WORD FROM OUR CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

DEAR TEAM,

It is with immense pride that we bring you the 3rd volume of RUInsights Team Member Newsletter covering the happenings of the first quarter of 2025 What a great start we’ve had to this year! With a reinvigorated passion for customer service, we’ve seen an incredible increase in the overall satisfaction ratings of our residents and families across the entire company.

As you may know, each quarter we survey at least 25% of each community including both residents and family members to gauge satisfaction and receive feedback. In this process, all comments are noted, and any negative feedback receives quick resolution by the Executive Director. Prior to our quarterly meetings, I read through every one of these comments, highlighting patterns, excellent feedback, and unique solutions. Rest assured that we pay special attention to each team member “shout out” that we receive on these survey results. The best indicator of the success of the community I’ve found is the percentage of residents and family members who rank their “overall satisfaction with the community” as “excellent” in comparison to the other options of “good, fair, or poor ”

Over the years with RUI, I’ve read thousands of these surveys, and yet, I still find such valuable responses every quarter that provide unique insight to continually improve our customer service efforts and processes

I am incredibly proud to share that our Quarter 1 surveys showed significant improvement from the previous quarters which would not be possible without the daily efforts from each of you. From the bright eyes and smiles you share when you interact with a resident to the personal touches of a WOW Moment, nothing goes unnoticed. Please accept my personal appreciation for the work you do each and every day as we continue to “deliver a lifestyle our residents have earned and deserve.”

SINCERELY,

COMING TO LIFE

Taste of RUI:

Our culinary team always brings a top-notch experience to the table with each dish From presentation to service to flavor, their daily goal is to leave each resident with tantalized tastebuds and a full belly! This quarter, our chefs and team truly outdid themselves with an array of events:

“Souper” Bowl Party

Afternoon Tea and Treats

Lunar New Year Chinese Cuisine

The Role of Bread in Cultures

Caribbean Flare Live Kitchen Demonstration

Uncorked: Wine and Charcuterie

Valentine’s Day, St Patricks Day, and Mardi Gras celebrations

RUI Fit:

RUI Fit offers residents a fun and interactive way to stay active while working toward their personal health and wellness goals. Through a variety of focused exercise classes, this

program promotes mobility, strength, and balance which ultimately lead to fall and injury prevention Through a group environment, residents are also able to foster a social connection and a sense of accomplishment. Did you know? Ashleigh at Lansdowne residents have formed a volleyball team that competes in a yearly senior volleyball tournament against other local retirement teams

#RUIGivesBack:

Through monthly initiatives, our communities have a continual focus on giving back to the organizations and people in the surrounding area. This quarter, our residents and team members gave back through: Coat Drive

Ronald McDonald House Toy Donation

Volunteering at a Soup Kitchen

Making Valentine’s Day Cards for Students

Goodie Bags and Baked Treats Delivered to Local First Responders

WOW Moments

The Wellington at Lake Manassas celebrated Mr. Dennis Dunlap's 104th birthday with a surprise parade of Motor squads from the Combat Veteran's Motorcycle Association and the VFW Motor Squad, a personalized cake, heartfelt speeches, and a performance from his favorite local artist. Check out the news stories! bit.ly/InsideNOVAWowMoment bit.ly/WUSA9WOWMoment

Mr. Harris had an impressive tenure at The Library of Congress for 20+ years, serving diligently as the Preservation Director. It was here he also met the love of his life, his wife. A huge shoutout to the Library of Congress for letting Mr. Harris relive those beautiful memories with a personalized tour and a wonderful gift. A genuine trip down memory lane for Paul Spring's WOW Moment!

A lifelong thrill-seeker at Bay Lake, Allen Graff, used to race go-karts with his buddies reaching speeds of up to 75 mph, but has missed the feeling of that adrenaline rush. Despite being an amputee, Allen got the chance to relive those high-speed days on the track at Motor World, where he quickly felt right at home in the driver’s seat putting the pedal to the metal.
