Artist Biography

Ruramai 'Rudo' Musekiwa is a multi-disciplinary creative based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her versatile skill set spans digital and graphic design, fine art, art direction, photography, music composition and production.

In the realm of visual art, Rudo's work is deeply rooted in symbolism, portraiture, activism, and visionary art. Her art celebrates African identity, culture, and the rich narratives of the continent. This commitment is exemplified in her acclaimed Sibahle Poster Series, a tribute to remarkable African women that gained widespread global recognition. Other significant career highlights include her contributions to the tie-in book for the Hollywood film The Birth of a Nation and the design of the branding illustration for Global Citizen's Mandela 100 campaign.

Grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with both local and international creative teams, Rudo's exposure to diverse systems and processes has enriched her creative approach. Driven by a passion for people, purpose, and all forms of art, she believes that creativity is a powerful catalyst for positive social change, particularly in the African context.
