Case Study 8

This spatial sequence is built to be placed in a pocket park in midtown Manhattan. The first project based on a real site, it allowed me to explore human interaction with space while having a constrained area. The purpose is to pattern a shape that embodies ones heightened senses whilst relaxing in a park. The pattern aims to guide a person through the park along with offering peeled off edges to sit and reflect. The structure is constructed out of wood and coated with paint. The digital patterns of the structure is created on Rhinoceros. It explores the potential patterns and amount of pieces for the final prototype.
