Page 1

APRIL 3RD, 2026

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY

Aai,

I want to start by saying that I miss you and wish that all of us could celebrate with you today.

I’ve been attached to your hip ever since I was a kid - wish it could stay like that forever, but phone calls will do for now.

You are the smartest, most empathetic, generous, and kind person who never fails to help me through any situation big or small. Your caring voice has impacted my decisions every step of the way.

And for that I want to say thank you! Thanks for making Anish and I feel special everytime we visit. Thanks for sharing stories and listening to mine. Thanks for showing me how to embrace creativity in life. And thanks for always finding ways for hotels and houses to feel like our homes haha.

This year marks a remarkable moment in your life, and for a way to thank you back, we have put together this book. As you step into your 5th decade, take some time to flip through messages collected from your family and friends around the world!

~ With love, Rucha

Mom-

Happy Birthday Aai!! Big 50 and you still look like you are in your 20s and Baba is your uncle haha, make sure to celebrate like that as well! Only today will you be permitted to indulge in all your sweets fantasies, so enjoy the cake, chocolates and your favorite tiramisu fully today! Those dishes also live in my dreams.

But in all seriousness, it has been a challenging time for all of us, with Aaji’s passing, taking care of Aajoba and the global situation in general but most of the burden has been on your shoulders. I cannot imagine a stronger, resourceful and more resilient person in my life and your strength has kept us all grounded and together. I admire you in so many ways whether that is your loving and positive personality or your talkative and friendly demeanor on our calls you never let anything affect your light and I know you will keeping shining long and bright for us all.

I love you to the moon and back!! Keep sharing your beauty, art, music and care with us all.

~ Loving son, Anish

~ Nikhila

Dearest Mami...wishing you a very happy 50th birthday!!

You have always been a role model for all of us ..combining elements of novelty as well as tradition, grace and elegance, calmness yet depth ... And the way you handle the storms called Kedar mama, Anish and Rucha is really extraordinary....

Missing you today and hope to meet you soon in Doha!!!

~ Amu

Dear Mami,

Happy 50th Birthday!! I hope you have an amazing day celebrating this milestone. You have been an unwavering, loving presence in my life. The affection and care that you have for those you love about emanates far beyond you, and even crosses countries and oceans. I am privileged to be your niece. I know that whenever I need any help or advice, you’re just a phone call away. Some of my favorite memories are in the more recent years when I visited you in Kenya, and when you’ve been able to visit us in the US. I am very grateful for these memories and excited to continue creating new ones in the future!

Lots of love,

Atya!!

Happy 50th Birthday!! I hope this year treats you well and that you get to spend lots of time with all your loved ones.

On this very special day of yours, I’d like to thank you for all the love you’ve showered on me and Abeer. I always enjoy spending time with you whenever you’re home in India—whether it’s going out for a quick pani-puri snack or just talking about school. I’m especially thankful for those delicious paneer sandwiches you make for us every time we meet.

Also, the time we all shared in Qatar is unforgettable. All the scenic places we visited, the different foods we tried, the kind and hospitable people we met, and the warm memories we made as a family in that beautiful land are all thanks to you and Kedar kaka, and of course Ani dada and Rucha tai.

Oh, and before I forget, do you remember the song (I think it was Ganesh Vandan) we sang together at Abeer’s munj ceremony? I absolutely love the fact that I can share a very precious talent of mine with someone just as precious to me. I’ve always been a fan of shastriya sangeet, and it was such a treat to sing Ganesh Vandan with you.

Lastly, I hope you continue spreading love and joy wherever you go and keep living your life to the fullest!

~ Much love, Anvi

Atya!

Happy 50th birthday! I wish you stay young and energetic as always. Continue spreading love wherever you go and make happy memories with all your loved ones.

I am writing this message to cherish all the happy memories spent with you and to thank you for making the most out of it. I am very grateful for all the love you have showered on me. Even normal conversations feel special with you, either it is chai talks or laughs over Italian food, you know how to make it unforgettable.

The time we spent in Qatar was absolutely unforgettable. Everyday, a new adventure we got to live through. Your planning and coordination made everything perfect. We got to experience many things because of you. Your cooking was exceptional and finger-licking delicious. Your paneer sandwiches were literally to die for. Everytime you make them, my mouth starts watering. Your sandwiches arent just food, they are memories. Everytime you make them, you show your love and compassion for us.

Finally, I want to end this message by wishing you Happy 50th Birthday again. I love you very much and wish that you live long and happy. I wish this year brings you happiness and joy.

~ Abeer

Happy birthday dear Kalyani.

Congratulations on your 50th birthday. 50 and fabulous, that’s you. You are exactly 10 years younger to me. But age difference was never a question for us. I still remember how you never left my side on my wedding, and how you were angry on Ram for taking me away to Nagpur.

You will always be my little sister, no matter how old you get, and I will always be cheering you on.

Watching you build your life has inspired me more than you know. I admire the way you handle life’s challanges with patience and grace. I am so proud of you. No matter how many candles are on your cake, you will always be my little sister , and no one can take your special place in my heart.

Once again happy birthday. May your day be filled with love laughter and happiness.

~ Your Didi.

Dear Kalyani,

As you celebrate this beautiful milestone of fifty years, my heart is filled with memories that feel as fresh and warm as if they belonged to yesterday. Among all my cousins, you have always held a very special place in my life. From our earliest childhood days, we shared a bond that was rare in its honesty and closeness—a relationship built not merely on family ties, but on affection, trust, and an easy understanding that only grows stronger with time.

Some of my happiest memories are woven around our journeys to Rahimatpur during the summer and Diwali vacations. Those trips were never just about the holidays themselves—they were about the certainty that I would see you. The thought of meeting you again filled those journeys with anticipation and joy. The time we spent together there had a magical, carefree quality to it; days seemed longer, laughter came easier, and life felt beautifully simple.

Rahimatpur itself carries a special glow in my memory, not only because of those precious days with you, but also because of Gajakaka. He has always been my most favourite kaka—someone who, in many ways, has been like a father to me. His warmth, affection, and guidance have meant more to me than words can adequately express, and I know that the same generosity of heart lives on in you.

Today, when I look at the life you have built, it fills me with deep admiration and happiness. You are surrounded by a wonderful family—Kedar, whose companionship and support have been such an important part of your journey, and your children Anish and Rucha, who reflect the values, warmth, and strength that you have passed on to them. Your brother Ketan and his family, too, are an integral part of the loving circle that surrounds you. Together, all of you form a family that is rich not merely in achievements, but in affection, respect, and togetherness.

I know that the loss of your beloved mother has left a quiet space in your heart,

I know that the loss of your beloved mother has left a quiet space in your heart, one that no words can ever truly fill. But I hope you will always remember that you are never alone. You are held in the love of so many people—family and friends alike—who care deeply for you and stand beside you in every season of life. I count myself among those who will always be there for you.

As you step into this new chapter, I want you to know that all of us who love you carry only the warmest wishes for the years ahead. May the coming decades bring you good health, deep contentment, laughter that comes easily, and countless moments of quiet happiness. May life continue to reward your kindness and your gentle strength in ways both big and small.

Fifty years is not merely a measure of time; it is a celebration of a life lived with grace, warmth, and sincerity. And if I were to sum up what you have meant to me over all these years, I would simply say this: you have been, and will always remain, one of the most cherished people in my life.

With deep affection and the warmest birthday wishes,

~ Sudhendu

Hi Kalyani

Wish you a wonderful 50 th birthday !!

Kalyani, don’t know how to and where to start about you. I have less words but lot of feelings and our childhood stories of togetherness. You are my world, you are my friend, you are my sister, companion…….

I don’t have any friends but you, Deepa, Ashwini are my besties. We spent all our summer vacations together eating ice cream, going to trips, playing /shopping together, taking big swings and singing songs louder and louder…

I am so happy that we still have same bonding… From the bottom of my heart I wish you a wonderful birthday and healthy life ahead.

~ Shilpa

Cheers to 50 wonderful years!

Wishing you a fantastic 50th birthday filled with love laughter and memories of a lifetime.

~

Happy 50th birthday! I still vividly remember the day in 1996 when you visited our house in Satara for the first time. Me, Amu, and Sonu were so excited when your marriage with Kedar dada was fixed. You were the first sister-in-law to join our family.

There are so many different memories we have of the wedding and of you coming home afterward. I still remember me, Amu, and Sonu asking you to tutor us on your very first day at our house in Satara. I also remember the countless hours we would spend at Suhas atya and Bhaiya kaka’s house in Satara whenever you and Kedar dada would visit. You connected with all of us younger than you like a mother figure.

You stood like a rock behind Kedar dada through his countless career moves. When we had to move from India to Canada, Nimisha and I experienced the difficulties we faced in managing so many small things on our own. You and Kedar dada managed multiple such moves effortlessly. Even when Kedar dada used to travel, you would be the one shouldering the parenting responsibilities. Anish and Rucha have turned out to be such wonderful kids. When we met at Niagara last year, Kedar dada told Nimisha and me how it was you who deserve the majority of the credit for instilling the discipline and values that made Anish and Rucha such wonderful individuals.

I wish you again a very happy birthday and will pray for your healthy and prosperous life! Hope to see you soon.

~Sujay

Happiest 50th Birthday, Kalyani Vahini!!

You are the first Vahini I ever had, and I was just a child when you married everyone’s favorite, Kedar Dada. I was instantly in awe of you.

I still have to apologize for making you help me with my study revision.

You share such a wonderful bond with every member of our family. You truly are an all-rounder — whether it’s painting, singing, cooking, or living such a balanced life. You and Kedar Dada have raised two amazing kids, Rucha and Anish. And your kindness is so evident in the way you love Nuka.

We all look forward to spending time with you and creating beautiful memories whenever possible. Whenever I see aloo paratha, I think of you, because you make it the best way. Thank you so much for feeding us those during your last US visit. I’m eagerly waiting for you all to visit again.

There is so much to learn from you — especially the way you carry yourself with such grace and dignity

I look forward to spending more time together and building many more amazing memories. We are all so lucky to have you in our lives

Have the best year ahead and a spectacular birthday

~ Sonu

Wishing a very happy 50th birthday Kalyani.

Since last 25 years it’s become a yearly ritual for us to wish each other on consecutive days in April. It has been wonderful to know you all these years. Looking back I remember especially the holidays I spent with Suhasmawshi, Kedar and yourself at Jodhpur and Ahmedabad.

Wishing you a happy and healthy life ahead with Kedar.

~ From Gautam and Shilpa.

Happy 50th dear Kalyani!!

Wishing you best of health and loads of happiness always. I still remember the first time I met you in satara. Kedar was so excited to introduce you to all of us and you were blushing all the time. You gelled with all of us in no time. Since then everytime we meet I feel the same warmth and love. Thank you for becoming a part our family and treating us with so much love, care and respect. Kedar is lucky and so we all are. May you have the best birthday.

Hope to meet you soon. Love and hugs,

To Dear Kalyani, Happy 50th Birthday!

They say that “home” isn’t a place, it’s a person. You have proven that with your unwavering support for Kedar’s career across so many countries. It takes a special kind of strength to uproot, replant, and bloom in new soil while keeping the family grounded and loved.

Your Infectious smile and your loving nature isn’t just a personality trait; it’s a gift to everyone around you. No matter the time zone or the challenge, you carry a warmth that makes even the most unfamiliar places feel like home.

I’ve always admired how you don’t just “live” in a place—you impact it. Whether it’s a new community project or a creative endeavor, you always find a way to leave things better than you found them.

Fifty looks stunning on you. You have the grace of someone who has seen the world and the heart of someone who still finds the beauty in every small corner of it.

Here’s to the next 50 years of laughter, new opportunities and the wonderful time filled with lots of love and happiness.

With lots of love and admiration,

~ Neepa, Uday

Happy Birthday Kalyani!

We met in the summer of 2011 and spent roughly 1 and a half years in Tehran. In any other country and at another time we wouldn’t have become friends. But I’m so happy we did!

I found Kalyani a very talented and intelligent person. Well read, good voice and she can paint Iranian style too! Most importantly, she has learnt to smile through each and every job posting of Kedar’s. Making sure the kids are looked after no matter which school they go to. I have no doubt that Kalyani is the backbone of Kedar, Anish and Rucha’s success. Playing the second fiddle exceedingly well. She has this very quiet persona. Very soft spoken, yet she is as strong as steel. Many think that expat life is easy but it takes a flexible yet determined soul to live it well. Kalyani has done it.

So, congratulations on half a century lived well. And the best wishes for the coming one.

~ Veena, Ashutosh

My dear Kalyani, Happy 50th Birthday!

Wishing you a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

From the time I’ve known you, I have always admired your dedication, your strength, and the way you balance life as a loving daughter, mother, and wife. Whatever task you take in your hands, you complete it with full commitment— be it your art, your singing, or your family responsibilities. What I admire most is how, over the years, with your family moving across continents—from Africa to Thailand—every 2–3 years, you have adapted so gracefully, embraced new experiences, learnt something new at every place, made friends effortlessly, and turned every new home into a warm, loving space with your calm, composed, and caring nature.

I’m so glad our paths crossed in this wonderful journey of life. Thinking of all the amazing moments we’ve shared always brings a smile to my heart. Here’s to more laughter, adventures, and beautiful memories together!

~ Love, Kirti

Cheers to fabulous, fearless, fit, funny and fantastic friend Kalyani.

Lots of love

Geeta and Avinash

Dear Kalyani, Happy 50th birthday.

Some people enter our lives quietly and become very special without us even realizing when it happened. For me, you were that person. What began as neighbours in Nairobi slowly grew into a friendship I truly cherish.

I will always treasure our evening walks, our long conversations about everything and nothing, and the comfort of having such a warm, thoughtful friend just next door. Your kindness, humility and creativity make you such a beautiful soul. Whether through your music, your art, your cooking, or the way you care for people, everything you do comes from the heart.

Thank you also for the love and sincerity you gave to Sparsh. Your support meant so much to me and to our community.

I miss those simple everyday moments with you. Turning 50 is a beautiful milestone, and I hope the years ahead bring you even more joy, creativity, laughter, good wine, and all the happiness you bring to others.

I feel very lucky our paths crossed.

With love always, ~ Shefali
