Formedin1919,RuardeanHillplayedintheoldForestofDeanleagueuntilitsterminationin thelate1950’s.TheythenmovedintotheNorthGloucestershireLeagueandhaveremained thereinsomecapacityeversince.

RuardeanHillgainedtheirfirstpromotiontotheNorthernSeniorLeaguein1994/95and competedinthisleagueforseveralseasonsbeforebeingrelegatedin2001.They immediatelyregainedpromotionthefollowingyearonlytoberelegatedagainin2004.In the2011/12season,theyearnedalastdaypromotionbacktotheseniorleagueaswellas reachingthefinalofthe‘AmateurCup’The2012/13seasonbroughttheclubitsfirst promotiontotheNorthernSeniorLeagueDivision1fromback-to-backpromotions.‘TheHill’ finishedinthetopeightforeachofthenextthreeseasonsbeforefinallywinningtheDivision 1titlein2016/2017season.Theyscoredanincredible125goalsandconcededjust34in35 games.
RuardeanHill’scurrentfirstteamhasagoodmixtureof youth,fromouryouthteams,andexperiencefromthe samecoregroupofplayers.Thecoregroupplayers havebeenintheteamforabout10years.Theynowfield 3seniorteams;theclub’spromotionsowealottothe depthofitsotherseniorteams

BroadwellFootballClubwasformedin1905bythelocalworkingmenandoriginallyplayedat“The Purples”Coalway Inthe1930sBroadwellmovedtoplayat“WynolsHill”wheretheystayeduntil1947, whentheymovedagaintowhatisnowknownas“TheHawthorns” Thiswasdonewiththehelpof thetwolatetrustees,MrBertRuck,andMrFrankHaviland.Overtheyearsvariousfacilitieswereused suchas“theRisingSun“,churchhall,andthelocalworkingmen’sclub However,in1963withthe helpofthechairperson,MrRubeKibble,SecretaryWilliamSmithandcommitteemenMrCyril Hamblin,anewchangingquarterwasofficiallyopenedbyrefereeMrTomFinney.

The2022seasonsawtheteamstartwithChrisbutunfortunatelyafewweeksinChrismadethedecisiontostep downfromtheManagerrolewhichmadewayforGuyJonestostepupfromAssistantManagertoManager. GuyhadsomebigshoestofillinwhatwashisdebutasaCountyLeagueManagerbuthetookontheroleand gaveithisall.Workinghardonkeepingmoraleupandspiritshigh,Guycontinuedtoworkwiththeteamhehad, makingsureeachgamewasapositivevibe,settingsmallgoalsandalwaysapplaudingtheresults,regardless ofwinorloseTheseasonprovedtobeatoughoneforBroadwellandduringthefinalweeksofthewefound ourselvesatthebottomoftheleaguetableandheadingtowardstherelegationzone.Itlookedatoughgigfor GuyandtheteamtopullthroughandremainintheCountyLeaguebutthroughsheerdeterminationfrom everyoneandthesupportofallatBroadwelltheydidit!Thefinalmatchesgavethemthepointstheyneededto remainjustaboverelegationandanotherseasonheadingintotheCountyLeague.
