Formedin1919,RuardeanHillplayedintheoldForestofDeanleagueuntilitsterminationin thelate1950’s.TheythenmovedintotheNorthGloucestershireLeagueandhaveremained thereinsomecapacityeversince.
RuardeanHillgainedtheirfirstpromotiontotheNorthernSeniorLeaguein1994/95and competedinthisleagueforseveralseasonsbeforebeingrelegatedin2001.They immediatelyregainedpromotionthefollowingyearonlytoberelegatedagainin2004.In the2011/12season,theyearnedalastdaypromotionbacktotheseniorleagueaswellas reachingthefinalofthe‘AmateurCup’The2012/13seasonbroughttheclubitsfirst promotiontotheNorthernSeniorLeagueDivision1fromback-to-backpromotions.‘TheHill’ finishedinthetopeightforeachofthenextthreeseasonsbeforefinallywinningtheDivision 1titlein2016/2017season.Theyscoredanincredible125goalsandconcededjust34in35 games.
RuardeanHill’scurrentfirstteamhasagoodmixtureof youth,fromouryouthteams,andexperiencefromthe samecoregroupofplayers.Thecoregroupplayers havebeenintheteamforabout10years.Theynowfield 3seniorteams;theclub’spromotionsowealottothe depthofitsotherseniorteams
Theclubarenowcompetingintheir5thseasoninthe MarcliffCountyLeaguehavingfinished9thand5thin theirfirsttwoseasons.Theyarenowfullycementedin theCountyLeagueandtheyarelookingtopushonand finishashighaspossible.

IntheNorthGlosPremierDivision,theReserveteamlost1-0athometoLydneyTownAAnotherimprovedperformanceby theReserveTeam,whoonceagainmissedchancestoscore.Thegamewassettledbyalong-rangestrikefromLydney’s WilliamButcherinthesecondhalfThereservesdisappointednottotakeanypointsfromthegame

In2014/15,theClub’sinauguralseasonintheCountyLeague,the1stXIovercameallexpectationsbyfinishing asrunawaywinners,leadingfromstarttofinish,aswellasfinishingasrunners-upintheLeagueCup. Thenextfewyearssawtheclubgothroughadifficultperiodwhentheylostnotonlythemanagerbutmost oftheteamthatwontheCountyLeaguebecauseourfacilitieswerenotuptostandardforthenextlevel.This accumulatedinthe1stteamfoldingin2016/17leavingtheclubwiththreesidesintheCheltenhamLeague.
