Our Services

Memorials

A memorial is a tradition that goes back to the beginning of civilisation. It preserves the memory of a loved one, and marks a persons life, becoming for many people a visible link between their departed one and themselves We can supply new memorials and offer a consultation service, free of charge, at the clients home or place of convenience.

As a headstone is a lasting tribute to a loved one, it is very important that the right choice is made and the correct advice is given. We understand that this may take time to finalise.

As part of our service we can offer:

Advice and guidance on choosing your memorial and inscription

Creation of unique and bespoke carvings on traditional stones

Draft inscription layouts, which you can approve before committing to your choice

Information on memorial care

Advice on Memorial Insurance

Advise on Church and Local Authority regulations and fees, which can vary enormously

10 Year Guarantee (covering material flaws)

Welcome all to another packed season of cricket on the hill!

This year we already have over 100 matches scheduled across the club, and are excited to provide even more opportunities for cricket - the women's hardball team will make their competitive debut, as will our new Development XI, and the as-yet-unnamed Hundred franchise will take a bow... all dependent on the rain actually stopping at some point though

The off-season has again been productive, with indoor league cricket continuing and excellent turnout at training sessions I'm heartened by the way the club continues to grow and the inclusive attitudes on display at all these sessions.

The committee has also been working hard to put together a vision of how we want to develop club in the future, and we have big plans that are already underway This is going to require significant investments of time, effort and, of course, money, but will be hugely beneficial to the club and community. More on that to follow, but you can help immediately by signing up to our new membership structure! Details available in all the usual places...

Lastly, a big thank you to all volunteers, club partners and sponsors who are doing so much to support the club and the game we love.

Best of luck in all your fixtures, up the Hill!

Last week saw a few regulars return to the 1st team and they really stepped up Eastcombe won the toss and put us in to bat, this looked to be a good decision as we lost early wickets, but a quick 36 from Jack Weaving accelerated the run rate before being dismissed by Eastcombe’s seamer This brought Alfie Jayne to the crease to showed a new level of maturity with his batting with players falling around him, he marshalled the tail and took us to a defendable total of 166 A tight start from Jack and Nick held the visitors to 20-2 from the first 12 overs, including 6 maidens. more wickets fell (Kane 2-11 and Taz 2-22) before debutant Ryan Chappell-Thomas cleaned up the Eastcombe tail taking 4-30 This performance shown the character that won us the league last year and will hopefully kick start our 2024 season Today we travel to Hatherley & Reddings and their picturesque South Park ground

W or w e w d the benefit of being weather may be agai is Sunday, prior to star ng as a team so quickly n who show up to practice, but also to the committee and RHCC sports club who also want to see the game of cricket grow. Here’s to a fantastic summer and here’s to a cheeky shandy post a Sunday game! Cheers!

It gives me great pleasure to welcome Aston Ingham to the Hill today The 2nd XI always seem to have an eventful game against this club; in 2022 we tied with them by taking a wicket off the final ball of the match, then last season we bowled our opponents out for 73 on a sticky wicket and yet still somehow contrived to lose by 39 runs! Let’s hope for another exciting game (with a positive result for the home team) this afternoon!

This season, the women’s team continue to go from strength to strength, in terms of confidence, player availability and introducing more people to the game Last week saw our 2nd T20 hardball game away at Corse & Staunton It was their encouragement last season, that pushed us to enter the hardball league and their reception on Sunday was no different Corse won the toss and opted to bat Overall, we gave a magnificent performance in the field, with the whole team contributing, taking 8 wickets and keeping Corse below 100. Despite an impressive innings from Millie batting all 20 overs, we were unable to reach their total Whilst we continue to develop our game, I am incredibly proud that we competed for the full 20 overs, we hit over 50 and to hold the opposition to under 100 runs, demonstrates that, despite the loss, we continue to make strides in our cricketing journey. This week we look forward to a fun afternoon out at the Down Hatherley softball festival, as well as meeting new opposition with a friendly vs Goodrich on Wednesday

Since January, we have welcomed many more new players, bringing our squad to over 20 players and have had the benefit of being coached by Chloe Skelton, current player for Western Storm. The weather may be against us, but we aim to play an inter-club “friendly” hardball game this Sunday, prior to starting the hardball league the following week. The fact we are growing as a team so quickly is testament, not only to the dedication and spirit of all the women who show up to practice, but also to the committee and RHCC sports club who also want to see the game of cricket grow.
