A WORD FROM OUR CAPTAINS
from 13th May
ADAM COLE - 1ST XI
And as predicted last week, the rain beat near enough the whole of the county! With such a strong XI it would have been nice to have seen how we would have gone, but on to this week as we welcome Witcombe to the Hill. Hoping for more promising weather conditions this weekend as we aim to kick start our season! I would also like to take this moment to send my thoughts to the friends and family of Phil Fisher, Phil was a longer serving member of the club, full of love and patience, in my early years I would spend our innings scoring with Phil which I'm very grateful for as it stops me umpiring these days! Thank you Phil, you'll be truly missed.

DEAN WHITE - 2ND XI

After last week’s washout, we hope to get our season off and running this week against Highnam Court. Both sides had one win apiece from our two encounters last season, so here’s hoping for another epic tussle! I would also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Phil Fisher, who sadly died this week. As a teen, I played alongside Phil and was in awe of his control as a bowler; in later years I was grateful for his wisdom and encouragement from the sidelines when I moved into captaincy. Phil was a lovely man who will be sorely missed by all at Ruardean Hill.
SAM WHITE - WOMEN'S
On coronation weekend, RHCC ladies took the festive energy to play in our first softball tournament These events provide the opportunity for teams to play multiple games, but within a supportive and relaxed atmosphere Overall, we took 2 wins against CCC; current softball league winners for their division and Down Hatherly, with our loss against newly formed Bradley Stoke by only 2 runs, making us joint overall winners Player of the day goes to Leigh Stephens for her performance with the bat and an excellent catch in the deep My thanks go to everyone who made themselves available on such a historic weekend – may this be the beginning of RHCC making history!
