Royal Tunbridge Wells Together Business Improvement District is bringing the first ever Art Week to the town centre from Monday 22 to Monday 29 August. In this booklet, you’ll find a packed programme with fun sessions of making and learning. From fine art to finger painting, there’s something for every level of interest and ability. PHOTOGRAPHY ON THE PANTILES - FREE MONDAY 22 AUGUST, 10 am –1 pm THURSDAY 25 AUGUST, 10 am – 1 pm THE PANTILES (15 spaces per session) Get snap happy with our professional photography masterclass, with local teacher Simon Everett. Look through the lens at one of the town centre’s most papped spots –the Pantiles! Bring your preferred camera or phone, all levels are welcome. (Movement around the Pantiles is required.) MAKE A GLASS COASTER AT GLASS BY CLAUDIA - FREE DAILY DURING ART WEEK, 11 am AND 3.30 pm , MON 22 - MON 29 GLASS BY CLAUDIA, MONSON ROAD (3 spaces per session) Want to give glass a go? Have a smashing time and create a coaster for your home under the cosy instruction of glass guru Claudia! Note: There is no glass cutting involved in this safe session, and no experience in glass work is required. Finished pieces will need to be fired in the kiln for 24 to 36 hours, and collected by the attendee to take home after this time. (Age 12+ FULLYBOOKED!

We won’t ask you to put on your cameras or microphones, so you can work along in privacy – there will be opportunities to ask questions via the chat box function. Book to attend as many sessions as you like! ANIMAL ILLUSTRATION WITH JAN MOFFITT - FREE TUESDAY 23 AUGUST, 7-8 pm ONLINE / ANY AGE Make your artwork a roaring success as you sketch on the wild side! You’ll be drawing a dramatic lion and a wise owl, with local artist Jan Moffitt, learning to create form and texture. Participants will receive a PDF example of the images ahead of time. You’ll need a pencil, such as 2B, 4B or 6B, and your choice of paper.

We’ve partnered with our friends at M. Saltmarsh and Rymans, both of Monson Road, to provide the opportunity to watercolour, crayon, pencil or felt tip your way to an inspiring prize of art supplies.
There are three age categories to enter, Under 10, 11-17, and Adults. The two young winners will win a hamper of age appropriate goodies from Rymans, whilst the lucky grown up gets a selection of art supplies from M. Saltmarsh, who will be casting their expert eye over the masterpieces to judge all the submissions, as the oldest art shop in England!
