Project: Financial Planning for Janella

PROJECT: Financial Planning for Janella

YOU HAVE BEEN HIRED!

Janella, a 39-year-old professional, has hired your group as her wealth management advisors. She has given you $100,000 to invest for the next 3 years.

Your group will choose two of the below companies to research and compare. During RTSWS session #5, your group will pitch one company’s stock to Janella to invest in.

1. Lululemon vs. Nike

2. American Airlines vs. JetBlue

Instructions:

1. Split up into about 5 teams of students (depending on cohort size). As a team, you will be conducting a case study for two companies to determine which has a higher potential total return.

My Group Members:

2. Determine the companies your group will be researching: a. Lululemon and Nike OR

b. American Airlines and JetBlue

3. Use the table on the following pages to track and organize information from relevant articles and your stock analysis. During today’s session, your group will focus on company backgrounds and the pros and cons of each company.

After completing the case study and comparison of your two companies, you will use the information gathered to pitch (or recommend) which company’s stock Janella should invest in (during RTSWS session #5).

Important Notes:

• Half of the teams will compare Lululemon vs. Nike and the other half will compare American vs. JetBlue.

• You will NOT be completing a case study on all four stocks, only the two your team has chosen or been assigned to.

Project Resources:

• Google or Search Engine • Yahoo!
