2026 has been a challenging year for UK retail, but those willing to invest are still finding meaningful growth opportunities. Several have outperformed the wider market by backing fresh investment, whilst spring’s brighter weather provided a welcome lift across the sector proof that, with the right conditions and the right technology, retail can still flourish. What stands out about this year’s Hot 100 is technology delivering measurable results in real retail environments, tackling operational complexity while enhancing both business performance and the customer experience. The same goes for retailers backing it: none of this works without those willing to invest and innovate rather than wait, and that choice deserves recognition too. At 3D Cloud, we see this daily with retailers like B&Q, John Lewis, and DFS, where the hardest part was never the technology; it was finding partners on both sides who understood the customer well enough to make it worth using.
