College Avenue Urban Plaza February 2022 Athens, GA

After College Avenue became a pedestrian corridor, an opportunity for a plaza redesign emerged. This design allows flexibility and chances to relax or socialize. The seat walls create private areas for pedestrians to relax. Open spaces with movable seating give flexibility and allow visitors to dine, and are big enough for vendors or food trucks to set up stalls. The centralized stage gives visitors a spot to sit up high to view North Campus and the downtown area. Since the tables and chairs are movable, it can allow for many to gather and for East Clayton Street to be closed off for large events. The paths are bike-friendly, and the diagonal path across the plaza creates dynamic movement and allows for views from all directions.

MILLEDGE TUDOR Residential Planting Plan September 2020 Athens, GA

This design was for a service studio project which involved working for real clients for the first time. The clients requested a semi-formal green and white garden. I selected plants that bloom white throughout the seasons, and I saved existing plants the clients requested to keep. The house was in the style of an English Tudor cottage, so I took the architecture of the building into account when selecting plants. The plants also were required to be sourced from local nurseries, so availability was another factor when selecting plants.

RIDGEVIEW CREEK Mixed-Use Community April 2021 Athens, GA

I analyzed how buildings, circulation, and open space interact with a design to create useful and attractive spaces. One goal of this mixeduse community was to connect it to the North Oconee River. I did this by making the view of the river clear and by creating a bridge to connect the community to the other side of the greenway. This medium-high density mixed-use community focuses on the outdoors and the arts. The community contains an art studio, jazz club, coffee shop, restaurants, and shops. There are two parking decks for the residents and visitors. 25’

This courtyard is meant for both the residents and visitors for a peaceful area to relax.

The bridge connects the community to the North Oconee Greenway.

This axon highlights the greenroof and commercial activity of the community.

ROCKET GARDEN

For the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation November 2021 Watkinsville, GA

I designed this garden for a client I found on a student job board. The client specifically requested a garden that contains flowering plants all year round. The client wanted the garden to be a source of inspiration for the artists who use the building. The client also requested flowering plants for cuttings. I made sure to select suitable plants for the orientation of the building and the shade of the large trees. I altered my design due to the availability of plants at local nurseries.
