Forcing Function: Skin in the Game and Co-Investment A defining element of the Feinberg directive is the demand for corporate co-investment. The Pentagon is pivoting away from fully government-subsidized factory expansions toward true risk-sharing partnerships. Prime contractors are required to explicitly detail internal capital allocations and demonstrate a willingness to put "skin in the game" by expanding their own corporate infrastructure alongside federal funding injections. This expectation trickles down directly to the Tier-2 and Tier-3 supply chain—the board-level manufacturers, rugged enclosure providers, and component distributors who form the backbone of military electronics. If prime contractors must accelerate assembly lines by factors of three or four—mirroring recent framework agreements targeting massive upticks in PAC-3 and THAAD propulsion and seeker components—the COTS hardware ecosystem must similarly adopt flexible, scalable production models. Obsolescence management and component sourcing can no longer rely on narrow, single-source specialty fabrication.

Siemens Government Technologies (SGT), Inc., today announced it earned an $80 million award from the Army Contracting Command to deliver an integrated digital and physical advanced manufacturing environment for the U.S. Army-controlled production of unmanned aircraft system electric motor stator assemblies.

Power Integrations, the leader in high-voltage integrated circuits for energy-efficient power conversion, announced that PowiGaN™ gallium-nitride (GaN) technology is now rated at up to 2200 V, far exceeding the voltage capabilities of all other commercially available GaN technologies. This breakthrough positions PowiGaN as the leading technology solution for high-voltage data centers, EVs, renewable energy, and HVDC infrastructure, as they adopt higher-voltage bus architectures to achieve greater power density.

“Our 2200 V PowiGaN technology provides substantial voltage margin for emerging high-voltage power systems while enabling the high switching frequencies required to maximize power density,” said Jennifer Lloyd, president and CEO at Power Integrations. “Emerging applications include next-generation AI data centers, where industry roadmaps point toward 1500 V distribution architectures, as well as future EV battery and auxiliary power systems operating at increasingly higher output voltages (48V).

This milestone breakthrough extends the reach of GaN into voltage ranges traditionally served by SiC, enabling a compelling high-frequency alternative for applications such as solar, HVDC and advanced industrial power conversion.”

GaN power switches are steadily supplanting silicon transistors in a wide range of power conversion applications thanks to their higher efficiency and switching frequencies. However, GaN technology

must keep pace with data center, EV, renewables, and HVDC infrastructure roadmaps that call for higher voltages and greater power density. Alternatives include lower-frequency silicon carbide (SiC) or arrays of stacked, lower-voltage GaN devices that require compromises on power density, complexity and reliability.

PowiGaN ICs rated at 1700 V are already being designed into single-stage data center auxiliary power applications, while 1250 V PowiGaN offers a simpler alternative to stacked solutions in the main power path in 800 VDC data centers. The introduction of 2200 V PowiGaN technology means that even higher bus architectures can be supported, future-proofing power designs not only for data centers but also for EVs, photovoltaic inverters and battery-energy storage systems.

“The shift to 800 VDC bus architectures in AI data centers is reshaping power semiconductors," explains Roy Dagher, PhD, technology and market analyst, Compound Semiconductors at Yole Group. "GaN's voltage ceiling has kept it out of the main power path, ceding that ground to SiC. A 2200 V rating changes this, giving margin for single-stage topologies and future-proofing emerging 1500 V data center and EV designs. We expect the power GaN device market to reach $3.5 billion by 2031, and extending GaN into these higher-voltage applications is an important part of that growth.”

Inside Track Cambridge Pixel Demonstrates SAPIENT-Compliant Radar Processing at NATO Counter-UAS Exercise Cambridge Pixel radar processing software deployed as part of an SPX Technologies BlackTalon counter-UAS solution at NATO exercise in Romania.

Demonstrating support for SAPIENT, the open standard adopted by NATO for sensor integration in counter-UAS, Cambridge Pixel proved its technology at the Layered Counter-UAS Initiative (LCI-X) Crucible 1-26 event hosted by Romania at Capu Midia Training Range, as part of Exercise Eastern Phoenix 26.

This was the first event under the NATO Allied Command Transformation (ACT) initiative for evaluating C-UAS capabilities in realistic, threat-informed testing environments. Running from 14 to 25 April 2026, the event brought together approximately 500 military personnel and specialists from Romania and NATO member states, alongside UAS and C-UAS capabilities from industry.

The SPX Technologies BlackTalon C-UAS system deployed at the exercise incorporated Cambridge Pixel software for radar processing, multi-sensor track fusion, data recording and operator display functions. Cambridge Pixel technology combined radar, electro-optical, and

other sensor inputs into a unified detection and tracking picture, with SAPIENT-compliant interfaces that support integration across vendors.

SAPIENT (BSI Flex 335 V2.0) is the open standard developed by the UK’s Defense Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) to support plug-and-play sensor integration in counter-UAS and wider surveillance systems. It is increasingly specified in NATO and allied procurement (STANREC/AEDP-4869).

Inside Track Critical Manufacturing Challenges in Aerospace & Defense Across Metals and Ceramics: How Complex Metal & Ceramic Designs Become Validated for Scalable Production In aerospace and defense, the most important question in additive manufacturing is no longer whether a machine can print a complex shape. The real question is whether a difficult part can move from concept to a repeatable, productionready process with the dimensional control, material performance, and manufacturing discipline required in a highconsequence environment. For metal and ceramic applications especially, the challenge is rarely printing alone; it is understanding how powder behavior, densification, shrinkage, support generation, postprocessing, and inspection interact to determine whether a part can be qualified and produced consistently.

Arc Impact is a global leader in advanced binder jet manufacturing, focused on turning complex metal and ceramic designs, such as siliconcarbidebased components, into qualified, repeatable production programs for aerospace, defense, and other demanding markets. Later, the emphasis may shift to demonstrating that once a material and geometry are understood, the workflow can scale without losing dimensional control or throughput efficiency. Inside Track GDIT Awarded $1.3 Billion Enterprise Network Operations and Cybersecurity Support Contract for the Army National Guard

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics, announced that it was awarded the Enterprise Network Operations and Cybersecurity Support (ENOCS) contract to deliver comprehensive enterprise IT and cybersecurity services for the Army National Guard and other federal government partners. The new $1.3 billion contract,

awarded by the General Services Administration (GSA) Assisted Acquisition Services, has a one-year base period and six one-year option periods.

Through this contract, GDIT will support the Guard and other federal government partners in upgrading and building new enterprise IT environments to meet mission needs. GDIT will provide integrated IT services, including establishing new operations centers, workforce support, technology provisioning, and onsite services.

The company will also operate, modernize, integrate and defend the Guard’s classified and unclassified networks, further strengthening its cyber posture. In addition, GDIT will apply advanced artificial intelligence, data analytics and communication capabilities to enhance mission execution. Together, these capabilities will create a more agile and resilient enterprise environment – streamlining operations, enabling faster access to IT services, improving security and elevating service quality for the Guard and its partners.

Tiberius Aerospace Entered into Cooperative Research & Development Agreement with U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center to Advance Sceptre PrecisionGuided Artillery Program

The CRADA establishes a collaborative research framework between Tiberius Aerospace and DEVCOM AC, enabling the parties to collaborate on mutually agreed research and technical activities relating to the Sceptre program.

CRADAs are a long-established mechanism through which the U.S. Army works with industry to accelerate the development and maturation of technologies of mutual interest.

Unlike conventional rocket-assisted projectiles, Sceptre uses a liquid-fueled ramjet that provides sustained propulsion throughout flight, delivering a step change in the performance of tube artillery. Fired from a NATO-standard 155mm howitzer, Sceptre is designed to accel-

erate beyond Mach 3, reach altitudes exceeding 65,000 feet and deliver precision effects at ranges of up to 150 kilometers, with target accuracy within five meters, even in GPS-denied environments.

Crucially, Sceptre requires no new launcher or bespoke firing platform, enabling armed forces to dramatically extend the capability of their existing artillery inventories without introducing a new weapon system. Its propulsion system uses a multi-fuel liquid propellant compatible with readily available military fuels, including diesel, JP-4, and JP-8, thereby reducing logistics, storage, and sustainment requirements while leveraging existing battlefield fuel supply chains.

Lockheed Martin, in collaboration with Verizon, NVIDIA, Keysight Technologies, ODC and Astris AI, recently showcased how commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies can make detecting and tracking unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) more accessible, faster to deploy, and easier to scale for public and critical infrastructure protection.

In a July demonstration in the Miami area, the NetSense™ Airspace Awareness-as-a-Service™ system demonstrated an AI-enabled capability

to identify, track, and monitor UAS using existing 5G networks.

The technology has broad commercial applications across critical infrastructure, largescale events at stadiums, utilities such as power plants, and everyday places people depend on, like schools, hospitals, and airports. City, state and federal government customers can also gain proactive monitoring and alerts from the NetSense solution.

The Big Picture As drones become more affordable, capable and widely available, the need for persistent, intelligent airspace awareness to protect the public grows. The successful live demonstration took place in a critical, high-traffic urban area important to American security, showcasing NetSense's components, capabilities, and UAS detection and

The IRS has awarded the certification to Accurate Industrial Controls for its 'Intelligent Situational Awareness and Collision Avoidance' (ISACA) tech stack following sea trials on board a new 13m workboat, built for Accurate at SHM Shipyard Limited in Mumbai. The sea trials took place in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Karwar, India.

Dharmesh Popatlal Gala, Accurate’s director of AI and Robotics, confirmed that the ISACA system includes Multiple Situational Awareness Sensors, including radar, GNSS, echo sounder,

CCTV, and a full collision-avoidance stack. He said it achieved IRS AUTN 4-R(N) certification in line with the specific IMOs International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGs) rules.

Dharmesh said that, following the successful trials, Accurate is now receiving orders and interest in both new-build and retrofit versions of the ISACA-equipped boat for commercial and naval markets.

"This is an exciting moment for Accurate," he said.

"We have worked for more than 30 years in automation across the steel, auto and aerospace industries. We saw an opportunity to expand into the marine sector about five years ago, while working with the Indian Army. We now see massive growth potential for our collision avoidance software and autonomous navigation solutions to be supplied at scale into Europe, the Middle East, India and beyond. We are seeing queries from navies and coastguards as well as port, harbors and the offshore market.”

Dharmesh said the key to Accurate’s offering is drawing on the expertise of a 1,500-strong workforce.

"As India is showing in space with the orbiter sent to

Mars, India can innovate tech at a fraction of the cost of other countries," he said. "For that reason, we believe we have one of the most advanced and competitive autonomous navigation solutions available in the world. With the ISACA system, we are aiming to democratize the cost of autonomous navigation solutions without compromising safety or performance."

Dharmesh said that bringing affordable autonomy to the market relieves massive pressure on traditional patrol boats, which require continuous crewing and cannot maintain persistent awareness across large areas.

“Autonomous boats using the ISACA solutions can replace crews and provide 24/7 monitoring and persistent awareness at a fraction of the operational cost,” he said.

“This matters more than ever in the naval arena where threats are changing, and the nature of warfare is evolving."

Dharmesh added that Accurate has further built a smaller 5m autonomous 'SAR Craft' at the Sumit Shipyard in Kochi, which it is also bringing to the patrol boat market with the full ISACA tech stack.
