What is SEC? STAR Erasmus Consulting (SEC) offers consultancy services to organizations who wish to expand or improve their position internationally.

Each project consists of three months of desk research, followed by three weeks of field research.

The field research takes place in the country of the company’s choice.

Every year, the companies, the projects, and countries differ, offering different challenges every year!

As a consultant, you and your team of fellow consultants are responsible for the entire research. Throughout the process, you will be trained

and supervised by professional consultancy firms. Mutiple trainings are provided by Accenture and a structure training is provided by Bain&Company.

This is the perfect way to combine your academic knowledge with a practical research approach whilst exploring the world of consultancy. Next to this, there will be enough social- and teambuilding activities to make the consulting experience valuable for your social network as well.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for motivated and talented 2nd or 3rd year Bachelor and (pre-)Master students, who want to gain experience in consultancy in a professional, social, and international setting. SEC will make sure that the project you are chosen for matches your interests and skills. For the desk research, you will work flexible part time hours (16 to 20 hours per week).

Desk research will take place from April until end of June. Additionally, you need to be available full time during the field research (end of June until end of July). Note that during the field research, you will not be able to travel back to the Netherlands for several weeks!

There will be two rounds of interviews. The first interview will be an interview aimed at getting to know you and the second interview is based on a consultancy case. You will have 48 hours to complete this case. The dates of the interviews will be announced later.

F.A.Q. Do the consultants receive a salary?

The consultants do not receive a salary.

They work on a voluntary basis to gain professional consulting experience.

However, the consultants will receive several benefits such as free trainings, free social activities, and a fully subsidized field research.

With how many consultants do I work on a project?

The number of consultants you work with depends on the workload of the project. You work usually with 2 to 3 other consultants.

When will I receive more information about the projects?

During the recruitment period, we will disclose unspecific information about the projects through our social media accounts. Detailed information will be provided after you have been selected as an advisor and signed a nondisclosure agreement.
