Best BTech Colleges in Lucknow 2026 1. IIIT Lucknow For students primarily interested in Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and technology careers, IIIT Lucknow deserves to be near the top of the shortlist.
Its strongest differentiator is its technology-focused academic environment. Current third-party 2026 comparisons place IIIT Lucknow prominently among engineering institutions in the city, while the institute's own placement portal publishes dedicated BTech placement statistics.
Why consider IIIT Lucknow? ● ● ● ● ● ●
Strong focus on computing and information technology Technology-oriented curriculum Attractive option for software/IT careers Strong placement ecosystem National-level entrance competition Particularly relevant for students targeting CSE/IT-oriented careers
The institute's official placement portal reports a ₹1.45 crore highest domestic package for the 2024–25 BTech placement statistics and provides a dedicated 2025–26 placement report. The highest package should not, however, be interpreted as the salary received by the average student.
Best for Students targeting CSE, software engineering, AI, IT and technology careers.
Watch out for IIIT Lucknow is not necessarily the right choice for students who want a broad range of traditional engineering branches. Its technology-focused nature is an advantage for some students and a limitation for others.
2. IET, Lucknow IET Lucknow is one of the most important names to consider when comparing government engineering colleges in Lucknow. It is an independent constituent institution of Uttar Pradesh's Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. Its official website currently lists 2026–27 admission notices and a 2026–27 feestructure notice.
Why IET Lucknow stands out The biggest advantage is the combination of: ● ● ● ● ● ●
Government-institution status Relatively affordable engineering education Established engineering departments Multiple traditional engineering branches Lucknow location Dedicated placement infrastructure
IET's Training and Placement Cell says that 90+ companies participated during 2024–25 and 500+ students were placed. The institute also identifies industry partnerships, technical training and placement preparation as major parts of its placement ecosystem. The placement office explains that its placement season generally runs from August through May and includes internships and full-time recruitment.
Best for Students who want a government engineering college with relatively strong ROI and are prepared to compete for admission.
Important consideration Do not evaluate IET only on the basis of its highest package. Depending on the branch, student skills, and recruitment cycle, placement results can differ significantly.
3. University of Lucknow The University of Lucknow is another institution students should consider when comparing engineering colleges in Lucknow, particularly when affordability and a large university ecosystem matter. Its engineering/technology offerings and admission rules should be checked against the current admission notification before applying because programs and admission routes can change.
Why consider it? ● ● ● ● ●
Established public university Broad academic environment Government/public-university fee advantage Lucknow location Potentially attractive for students seeking affordability
Best for Students who prioritize public-university education and affordability.
Before applying Check the current 2026–27 admission notification, available BTech branches, seat matrix and applicable entrance/counselling route rather than relying on an older college list.
4. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU)
BBAU is a Central University in Lucknow and appears in current engineering-college comparison databases. Current third-party listings show BTech-related programs, although students should verify the current 2026 intake, exact engineering programs and admission notification directly with the university before treating a listing as an active admission option.
Best for Students specifically interested in the public-university environment and programs offered during the relevant admission cycle.
Important Always verify whether your desired BTech specialization is accepting fresh admissions for 2026–27.
5. R.R. Group of Institutions (RRGI), Lucknow R.R. Group of Institutions (RRGI), Lucknow is a private engineering and higher-education institution located on NH-24, Sitapur Road, Bakshi Ka Talab. The institute's BTech page lists these departments and specializations as part of its engineering offering.
RRGI BTech Fees 2026 Available 2026 fee information indicates that the total B.E./BTech tuition fee at R.R. Group of Institutions varies by program, with current listings putting the overall tuition range at approximately ₹2.13 lakh–₹4.02 lakh for the respective BTech programs. Hostel charges are additional and vary by accommodation type.
Because different BTech branches can have different fee structures, students should confirm the exact fee for their chosen specialization and admission category before paying the admission fee.
RRGI BTech Admission 2026 Admission to BTech programs at RRGI can involve the applicable engineering admission and counselling process. Current 2026 admission information lists JEE Main among the accepted routes, while UPTAC counselling is relevant for BTech admissions in the current cycle. The institute's website also provides its admission process and application facility for prospective students. Students should check the latest UPTAC 2026 counselling rules, seat availability and RRGI admission notification before making a final decision.
RRGI Infrastructure & Student Facilities The institute highlights facilities including: ● ● ● ● ● ●
