Summer Programs JUNE 20-AUGUST 19

Themed Enrichment Weeks Preschool through Fifth Grade All students must be fully potty-trained by first day.

Geared towards younger students, this program allows children to experience a little bit of everything.

Each week offers a new theme that will guide the curriculum in various classes such as science, drama, foreign language, history, and sports—just to name a few! Turn the page for more detailed information and to see this year’s weekly themes.

HALF DAY (8:30 am-12:15 pm): $275/week FULL DAY (8:30 am-4:00 pm): $375/week

1st & 2nd Grade Specialty Programs Different programs every week! A step up from our Themed Enrichment Weeks, these weeks are designed to enhance learning by focusing on a more specific topic through the lens of two or three clear subjects.

Often merging STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and Fine Art ideals into one cohesive week, 1st & 2nd Graders get a chance to become well-rounded and diverse experts. See our offerings on Pages 3.

FULL DAY (8:30 am-3:30 pm): $450/week

3rd-5th Grade Specialty Programs Appealing to our more senior students, these weeks will have a clear focus in either STEM or the Fine Arts. Each week offers two choices in how they would like to stretch their brain and work with their peers. These weeks are designed as an immersive experience and are led by passionate educators in each field. Weeks detailed on Pages 4 and 5.

THEMED ENRICHMENT WEEKS

Offering varied experiences each day, these weeks are all about getting a little bit of everything.

Students are broken into groups by age prior to their arrival and assigned a Group Leader that will be their guide through the week’s adventures. Each day has them traveling from class to class learning more about that week’s theme through geography lessons, storytelling games, science experiments, and a variety of other activities. There is also plenty of student guided free play both inside and outside with our array of water toys.

With Half-Day and Full-Day options, families can decide how much students would like to experience each week. Whether this your first time here with us or are returning year after year, this summer promises to offer a unique and engaging experience.

All weeks are $275/week for half-day attendance or $375/week for full-day attendance.

Students REQUIRED to be fully potty-trained by the start of their first week.

JUNE 20-24: Halloween comes early as we employ some supernatural help in solving a daily mystery.

JULY 25-29: Hop on the plane and journey with us to as many places as we can get to in one week!

JUNE 27-JULY 1: Join us as we learn about the exciting world happening right underneath our feet!

AUGUST 1-5: With animals, acrobatics, and fun, we’ll work together to create the greatest show on earth!

Sailing the Seven Seas

JULY 5-8 (four-day week): This week has us trapped in the virtual world and only teamwork and creativity can get us out.

AUGUST 8-12: We’ll encounter pirates, storms, and giant whales as we travel around the world in our sturdy ship.

Our Own City

The Magical Zoo

JULY 11-15: Inspired by the city around us, we’ll work to build and better our own made-up city.

AUGUST 15-19: Normal creatures aren’t a part of this zoo; we’ll work at keeping our magical animals safe and sound.

The League of Superheroes JULY 18-22: Calling all heroes! We’ll explore what makes a hero and join forces to battle evil.

Invent It

Les Jeunes Francophone

JUNE 20-24: Travel through time to see how great inventions got their start. From acting out historical events to re-building amazing inventions, students will be guided to learn from the past and look to the future as they plot out an invention of their own.

Guiding Subjects: History & Science

JULY 18-22: The places and cultures that speak the French language are diverse and interesting. It’s this fact that we’ll be taking advantage of this week. Students will learn about the language and the many cultures that utilize it. Projects, games, and special guests will be the focus as we “parler français.”

Guiding Subjects: French & Social Studies

The Enchanted Forest JUNE 27-JULY 1: We're not venturing into your typical forest this week. Although we’ll be exploring habitat, food sources, and survival for our animals, they’ll all have a magical element we’ll get to invent ourselves.

These topics will be explored through a mixture of storytelling and science.

Guiding Subjects: Drama & Science

The Magic of Science JULY 5-8 (four-day week): What once was magic is now our everyday science. Explore how we saw the scientific processes in the past and imagine what unexplained ‘magic’ we have today and how that might be explained in the future! Experiments, games, and group work will guide our exploration.

Journey Through Time JULY 11-15: Time travel should be fun! Students work together to build and use their own imaginary time machine as they travel to any and every time period they can think of. Through drama and research, they’ll complete their time-traveling story by the end of the week.

Build It JULY 25-29: Every great project has to be designed before being built. Merging artistic design with practical applications, students will work to make something beautiful that can help in their everyday life.

Page to Stage AUGUST 1-5: Great stories can take many different forms. This week will explore the various and complementary ways one story can be told. Students work together to create a story and then perfect many different ways to tell it.

Guiding Subjects: Drama & Language Arts

City Sports AUGUST 8-12: Exercise and fitness takes on a different track when you’ve got the city as your playground. This week will introduce students to sports such as Parkour or skateboarding and put some science behind how these sports work and why a city is the best place for them!

Into the Future AUGUST 15-19: The future holds infinite possibilities for us as a creative and problem solving species. This week takes full advantage of that as we explore technology that is moving us forward and how that can inspire the future of our creative expression.

Minecraft Server Design with Youth Digital

Solving the Case

Create your own custom Minecraft server. Youth Digital’s most awaited course guides kids to learn professional Java programming as they design and build their own customized Minecraft server and share with friends.

Creative Juices This week will really get them flowing! Students will be led through a week filled to the brim with creative exercises and activities that will activate their brains and lead to amazing works of art. Whether they want to write, act, paint, draw, or compose music, this week offers the space to create.

Part Murder Mystery Theater and part Spy 101, students will have to work together to gather clues, interrogate suspects, and break the case wide open before the week is up. If you think your child is up to the challenge, join us for a puzzle filled and always shifting week.

Philly Proud Inspired simply and amazingly by the city we live in, students will gather to learn the history, culture, and hidden gems of Philadelphia. They’ll spend the week working on a project of their choosing that showcases their knowledge and pride in the City of Brotherly Love.

In this interactive online course students learn the basics of 3D video game design including models, textures, volumes, lighting, and more. Students will create their own amazing 3D world from start to finish.

Under the Big Top What would your ideal circus look like? This week starts with that question and who knows where we’ll end up?

Work as a team to research, design, and show off your very own circus. Guided by the students interests and abilities, this circus will showcase the very best of all they have to offer.

The Artist’s Life Is your student ready to share their art with the world? If so, they’ll want to explore how it’s done with some great artists doing just that. Designed to offer some initial tools in effectively making your art your career, students will engage in activities and discussion about what that really means.

Robotics

Space Colony

Students will spend a week utilizing LEGO Mindstorm NXT and EV3 models to work together on various projects and competitions. They’ll design, build, program, and test their robots as well as learn what might be next in the world of robotics.

Blast into a week filled with exploration. Students will reach to the far corners of space and guide the construction of a habitat that could support human life. They’ll learn just what’s out there and what it would take to sustain the human race.

Save the Day

Budding Entrepreneurs

Problem solving always looks more fun in a cape. In order to solve some our pressing problems, students will have to band together in creating some superheroes the world is truly in need of. Built around imaginative, but application-focused problem solving, this week promises to inspire.

During this week, students will begin building the skills in planning and implementing their own business. They’ll work through scenarios with some established entrepreneurs to gain insight in what it takes to make it all work.

Dive to the depths of the ocean this week. Devoted wholly to ocean exploration and marine biology, students will immerse themselves in a week of activities and experiments that will work to open up the mystery of what really lies beneath.

Exploring Comedy What makes something funny? If your child is interested in ‘hamming’ it up and understanding how to get the laugh, this week is just for them. Led by Philly comedy professionals, they’ll be sure to come away with skills to get the whole room laughing.
