Sew Philly
$240 • Grades 3-6 Monday 4:00-5:30 • Classroom Minimum 5 • Maximum 8 Just SEW it! Join SEW Philly’s Mali Petherbridge on a creative journey through the world of sewing and fashion design. Students will explore their personal style through sketches and the creation of a mood board and build a foundation in machine sewing through projects ranging from backpacks to pajama pants. In addition to learning how to use and care for a sewing machine, students will make original prints for their sewn designs using household materials and participate in a Project Runway style re-purposing challenge using nontraditional materials. Get used to saying, “I made it myself!”

Field Hockey

In the U.S., people tend to think field hockey is a “girls’ sport.” What Americans don’t realize is that field hockey is the third most popular sport on Earth with two billion fans in Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia and more. Learn this fun, fastmoving, world-famous game this fall with Ms. Brewer!

Rookie Chess Club

A nationally rated expert and highly experienced teacher who has led numerous teams to state and national titles, Ross will teach beginning students the fundamentals of this timeless game. Students

The class helps students develop the skills and mental focus in preparation for Taekwondo. With a strong emphasis on listening skills, concentration, coordination and cooperation, Pre M.A. also trains students for success in school. New students will receive a uniform by the third class meeting.

Minimum 4 • Maximum 12 Taekwondo is the national sport of South Korea and an Olympic sport. This is a well-balanced class designed to expose students to a full range of topics from cultural history to language and physical techniques, all while improving physical conditioning, augmenting athletic abilities and developing positive character traits.

Minimum 6 • Maximum 10 Settlement Music School’s instructors will help children gain independence and competency with basic music and movement skills, form their own music-making community and explore learning concepts in greater depth in this enriching, fun-filled class.

Minimum 6 • Maximum 10 Essential to music instruction, Settlement Music School’s Fundamentals of Music offers theory and ear training for St. Peter’s musically curious and inclined. Students receive a comprehensive education in the fundamentals that includes notation, scales, intervals, triads, musical terminology, transposition, harmony and counterpoint, which will assist them in all of their musical studies.

$160 • Grades 1-4 Tuesday 4:00-4:45 • Old Pine Minimum 8 • Maximum 16 For the fifth year in a row, Mr. Maxwell will lead this eight week football club for Lower School students looking to learn the rules and fundamentals of football, all while having a good time! Students should bring sneakers for the gym floor.
ZoomDance
Lacrosse
Minimum 6 • Maximum 12 ZoomDance is an action, adventure, highenergy class filled with dance, music, storytelling, imagination and fun! It’s designed to help young dancers develop agility, coordination, rhythm, and balance through a dynamic range of actions. Minimum 8 • Maximum 14 Join Mr. Maxwell as he coaches the fastest growing team sport in the U.S.! This nine week course requires participants to provide their own lacrosse stick. Protective equipment is optional, as the class is non-contact. Stick skills and game basics will be covered through games and competition.

Founder of CarlyMarly Designs, Carly Marks sells her designs to Urban Outfitters, select boutiques, and at events in LA and NYC, as well as the favorite Main Line show, Clover Market. Carly could not be more excited to come teach how to make trendy bohemian jewelry designs you won’t want to take off the rest of the school year! Minimum 6 • Maximum 16 The Fencing Academy of Philadelphia returns to St. Peter’s to provide an introduction to one of the five original Olympic sports: sword fighting. All instructors are certified to teach the FAP system that has produced two world champions and many athletes on elite college teams. Special lightweight equipment will be provided for beginners, who will learn the basics of fencing movement, timing and distance. Intermediate students will stay an additional 30 minutes and will concentrate on controlling the weapon and hitting correctly.
Young Rembrandts
$170 • Grades PS-K Wednesday 3:40-4:15 • Classroom Minimum 5 • Maximum 10 Young Rembrandts teaches drawing with a seetouch-do method that all kids can learn from and love! As children learn to draw and color using our step-by-step approach, they develop observation skills and increase their fine motor abilities, handwriting readiness and attention to detail. Participation in Young Rembrandts’ creative and encouraging classes helps young children learn to follow directions, hold and use a pencil, and stay on task. Young Rembrandts is a different kind of learning and a powerful kind of fun.

Hip Hop

Minimum 4 • Maximum 10 Metro Kids instructor Tami Cohen will introduce kids to Hip Hop and Jazz in this funky class. Students will learn warm-up techniques and will practice moving across the floor, various routines, partner work, freeze dancing and more! The goal is for kids to feel comfortable moving and dancing using their own creative minds. Parents will be invited to attend a mini performance at the end of the course.

Stanley Cup
$140 • Grades 2-5 Thursday 4:00-4:45 • Old Pine Minimum 8 • Maximum 14 The Stanley Cups returns to St. Peter’s this fall! Mr. Maxwell will teach the basic skills and fundamentals of both ice and street hockey as students begin their quest for the Cup! Games will be played each class with an emphasis on energy and fun!
Minimum 4 • Maximum 12 Hablamos espanol con St. Peter’s own Mrs. Reistle! Students will have fun while learning to converse in basic Spanish! They will learn greetings, introductions and short phrases about weather, descriptions of people and animals, and likes and dislikes. Children will build vocabulary through games and songs, creating skits to practice their new Spanish skills. Foods, holidays and other topics relating to Spanish culture will be introduced.

Registration
Spots in enrichment classes are confirmed once registration forms and payments are received. All classes have minimum and maximum requirements for enrollment. For that reason, classes may be cancelled or closed. Classes cancelled for weather-related school closures may not be rescheduled. Students enrolled in enrichment courses will receive a snack and all other ASCP services on the day of their enrichment class. Families need not pay for separate after school care on these days.
Payment
Payment for enrichment classes is due before the start of the first class. Please make checks payable to St. Peter’s School. Checks can be mailed to St. Peter’s School at 319 Lombard Street or submitted to the front desk. Please write “Attention Lydie Miller” or “Enrichment” on the envelope.

Intermediate Chess Club

Cooking with Mrs. Rekstad
$220 • Grades 3-5 Thursday 4:00-5:00 • Kitchen
Minimum 4 • Maximum 8 Toss out the junk food and make delicious and nutritious snacks with Mrs. Rekstad! Students will have fun cooking and creating in the kitchen while learning about kitchen safety and nutrition. Homemade hummus, fruit smoothies, and zucchini muffins are a few of the recipes the students will add to their personal cookbook.
Minimum 6 • Maximum 12 Students returning to Ross Colby’s Chess Club will learn opening theory and traps, middlegame plans and fundamental endgame checkmates. Students will be encouraged to take their time when making moves, asking themselves the right questions that will increase the quality of individual moves. They will learn to record their moves using algebraic notation, which will allow them to learn from their mistakes and prepare them for possible tournament participation.
Indoor Soccer
$120 • Grades K-1 Friday 3:30-4:00 • Old Pine Minimum 8 • Maximum 16 For the first time yet, Mr. B will offer his famous Indoor Soccer class to St. Peter’s K-1st graders. Students can look forward to learning the basics of the game and to practicing good sportsmanship.
