Sew Philly
$240 • Grades 3-6 Monday 4:00-5:30 • Classroom Minimum 5 • Maximum 8 Just SEW it! Join SEW Philly’s Mali Petherbridge on a creative journey through the world of sewing and fashion design. Students will explore their personal style through sketches and the creation of a mood board and build a foundation in machine sewing through projects ranging from backpacks to pajama pants. In addition to learning how to use and care for a sewing machine, students will make original prints for their sewn designs using household materials and participate in a Project Runway style re-purposing challenge using nontraditional materials. Get used to saying, “I made it myself!”
will learn how each piece moves, how to castle and promote a pawn, and how to place an opponent in check and checkmate. By the end of the course, students will possess solid foundational knowledge and will begin learning basic opening, middlegame and endgame strategies.
Field Hockey
$160 • Grades 5-8 Monday 4:00-5:00 • West Lawn Minimum 6 • Maximum 20 Take what you know about ice hockey. Now, swap the rink for a field and the puck for a ball. In the U.S., people tend to think field hockey is a “girls’ sport.” What Americans don’t realize is that field hockey is the third most popular sport on Earth with two billion fans in Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia and more. Learn this fun, fastmoving, world-famous game this fall with Ms. Brewer!

A nationally rated expert and highly experienced teacher who has led numerous teams to state and national titles, Ross will teach beginning students the fundamentals of this timeless game. Students

Minimum 4 • Maximum 12 Back for the third consecutive year, Pre M.A. is the most well-received ECD enrichment class at St. Peter’s School! The class helps students develop the skills and mental focus in preparation for Taekwondo. With a strong emphasis on listening skills, concentration, coordination and cooperation, Pre M.A. also trains students for success in school. New students will receive a uniform by the third class meeting.

Minimum 4 • Maximum 12 Taekwondo is the national sport of South Korea and an Olympic sport. This is a well-balanced class designed to expose students to a full range of topics from cultural history to language and physical techniques, all while improving physical conditioning, augmenting athletic abilities and developing positive character traits.

Minimum 6 • Maximum 10 Settlement Music School’s instructors will help children gain independence and competency with basic music and movement skills, form their own music-making community and explore learning concepts in greater depth in this enriching, fun-filled class.
Fundamentals of Music $160 • Grades 4-8 Monday 4:15-5:15 • Classroom
Minimum 6 • Maximum 10 Essential to music instruction, Settlement Music School’s Fundamentals of Music offers theory and ear training for St. Peter’s musically curious and inclined. Students receive a comprehensive education in the fundamentals that includes notation, scales, intervals, triads, musical terminology, transposition, harmony and counterpoint, which will assist them in all of their musical studies.
