St. Peter’s 2014-2015 Annual Report honors alumnae, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff and friends whose generosity enables our students to fulfill their potential. This new online format enables SPS to be a good steward of your gifts and to reduce the impact on the environment, eliminating production and mailing costs. This report catalogs the dedication and devotion of our community in turning shared goals and aspirations into reality though gifts received between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2015.

Letter from the Headmaster

Last school year, a group of dedicated St. Peter’s students met throughout the year to craft the bylaws for a Student Government at St. Peter’s School – not unlike the state representatives who met nearby in the summer of 1787 to determine how our newly formed country would be governed. This fall, three Upper School students presented themselves before the entire student body and made their case to represent their classmates as President. On November 18, 2015, one hundred percent of eligible St. Peter’s students cast their votes and at the end of the day we had our first democratically elected Student Government President. During this process, one theme ran through the negotiations, through the campaign platforms and speeches, through the election process – the love and pride that the students have for their school. These are exciting times at St. Peter’s-from student body elections to new sports offerings to the installation of a professional quality recording studio. In addition to increased programming, we are on the cusp of buying our building. This will be a transformational shift for our community as we will be planting our flag at 319 Lombard Street and can begin planning for our future with the knowledge that we will be right here for succeeding generations of students. Part of this planning will include improvements to our current facilities and examining ways to increase our space so that our programs can continue to evolve, ensuring that these next generations of students will share the love and pride in St. Peter’s that past and current students do. The Annual Report is an incredibly important document, as it is a record of those who stood up to show financial support for our school. St. Peter’s would not be able to offer an outstanding curriculum, to offer new programming, to keep pace technologically, to create a safer, more functional, and more attractive space for our students and faculty without the generous contributions of so many in the community. On behalf of the students, faculty, and staff of St. Peter’s School, I offer my deepest thanks.

ONE BENEFICIAL WAY TO SUPPORT ST. PETER’S IS BY MAKING A GIFT THROUGH YOUR ESTATE. These gifts are known as bequests, which is a transfer of wealth that occurs by means of a will or a trust. A bequest can be either unrestricted or restricted and designated towards a certain program. It can also be a specific amount or a percentage of the balance remaining in your estate or trust. Class of 2015 Gift

The Eighth Grade Class Gift is a student run effort, in conjunction with the Advancement Office, to raise funds to benefit future students. The purpose of the Eighth Grade Class Gift is to generate school spirit, pride, and develop a culture of giving back to St. Peter’s School. The Class of 2015 chose to gift the School with a special St. Peter’s School tie display for our foyer. The ties are hung over the Garnet and Grey Bowl featured at the main entrance to the School. The ties in the display case were signed at the first St. Peter’s School Alumni Reunion, held in May of 2015, by St. Peter’s Alumni dating all the way back to the Class of ‘51. The St. Peter’s School tie distinguishes our students from any other; it bridges generational gaps, connecting all of our Alumni together. The display will serve as a reminder of this, and of that special day, when our many Alumni were first brought together. Thank you Class of 2015 for this thoughtful gift!
