Presented to a company with great presence in the community, that has shown remarkable corporate culture that exemplifies excellent citizenship.
From the beginning, Frank Rewold’s carpentry and relationship skills conveyed facets of his future company’s distinct character. Since 1918, we have retained a people-focused, honest outlook that seems to escape larger construction companies today. To be sure, FRS constructs multi-million dollars of construction annually, but is by no means the largest contractor. Our projects express their own candidness and character -- these qualities are what make us Rewold.

The Friends of the Rochester Hills Public Library were formed in 1961 (as the Friends of the Woodward Memorial Public Library) and the statement of purpose at that time is the same as today. The Friends are a catalyst for change. In less than a decade, the Friends have moved the library board to hire a professionally trained librarian, raised the level of children’s services, and become an advocating voice within the greater community. The Friends advocacy for the library continues to this day and members consider themselves ambassadors for the library.

Judge Nicholson was elected to the 52/3rd District Court in 1996 after being in private law practice for 10 years. Shortly after her election, she instituted the very successful Court in the Schools and Have to Choose programs within the 4 school districts inside the Court’s jurisdiction. She traveled to middle schools and high schools 1-2 times per month for 25 years to educate students about the consequences of illegal behavior. Judge Nicholson says, “I am so honored... It has been an absolute privilege and pleasure to serve this community not only in a legal capacity but also as a community member. I am blessed to have met and worked with so many dedicated, passionate business people who live and work here. We are so fortunate to have a Chamber that cares about its members’ success. One thing I have learned over the last 30 years is that when you are involved in your community, everyone wins, especially you.”
