Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from REAL and a letter of provenance from the original recipient, in full: “I obtained this autograph back in February of 1985 in between sold out shows at the Forum in Los Angeles. It was signed when Prince visited Warner Brothers Records in Burbank to preview what I believe was the Around the World in a Day album. I was in 8th grade at the time so I’m not too sure what songs were playing—I just knew it was new Prince music. I was invited there because my friend’s mom worked there and got us in. Prince signed several items for us and other WB employees. He arrived in a purple limo. Big Chick was with him and I remember when Prince left the building he was carrying a single carnation. He signed the poster for me when he was sitting in the purple limo… I remember asking him when he was leaving the building and he said ‘wait until I get to the car’ in his low unforgettable voice.” An extraordinary piece, this is the first signed Purple Rain poster that we have encountered. UK landing card issued to “Prince Rogers Nelson” 4046 Prince Signed UK Customs Card Official United Kingdom landing card from the 1980s, 4 x 3.25, issued as “HM 020 107,” and signed below in black ballpoint, “Prince Rogers Nelson.” The balance of the card is filled out by an assistant, which notes his full name, gender, date of birth, place of birth (“Minn. USA”), nationality (“American”), and occupation (“Entertainer”). The final line requiring a local UK address was filled in “None,” and resulted in Prince having to fill out a corrected second card to be submitted to customs. In fine condition.
