Welcome! Dear Group Travel Organiser, We are delighted to announce the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s forthcoming series of concerts in London, during October – December 2011. The Orchestra returns to the Royal Albert Hall with a series of popular shows, including Best of Broadway and John Rutter’s Christmas Celebration - plus a brand new show, Symphonic Queen. Classical music stars Freddy Kempf and Tasmin Little are sure to astonish audiences in intimate Cadogan Hall performances as they explore a wide variety of classical works. Plus, during 2012 the Orchestra will return to the Royal Festival Hall. Further details will follow later in the year. Egmont Overture Violin Concerto Symphony No.4

Germany’s sublime input into great classics from the Romantic era is truly represented in this concert, opening with Beethoven’s powerful egmont overture and closing with Brahms’ majestic Symphony No.4. Tuesday 22nd November 2011, 7.30pm Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings Rachmaninov Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini Tchaikovsky Symphony No.2 ‘Little Russian’ Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings is a perfect opening to showcase the “silvery aristocratic strings tone” from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s string section. Rachmaninov’s lushly scored Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, based on Paganini’s well-known violin theme, is an irresistible work for a full orchestra. Near Kiev at the time, Tchaikovsky wrote his ‘Little Russian’ symphony, with it’s haunting movements – an ideal piece to complete your musical evening. Enjoy a merry mix of Christmas songs, festive orchestral pieces and sing-along carols. You and your group can take in the dazzling lights of Sloane Square and perhaps indulge in some retail therapy along King’s Road before unwinding back at the Hall and succumbing to the festivities of Christmas with this memorable concert.
