Design Principal Study

After completing the single page graphic depicting the design principle (previous page), I put my definition into practice by completing a series of models.

The terrain for this perch model is based off of a feature in Acadia National Park called Thunder Hole. This area is known for the terrific sounds and clouds of spray that occur as the tide rises. The black and white photographs on the right depict some of the views one would experience at the park. The top image directly to the right is of Thunder Hole itself. The topography for this model was taken from the model on the previous page and then flattened so that less materials would be used.
