Galina Munroe (1993) es una joven pintora de origen franco-británico con la que la galería ha comenzado a colaborar de forma muy reciente. En 2014, se licenció en la Academia Europea de Arte de Bretaña y, dos años más tarde, se graduó en la Central Saint Martins de Londres. Sus lienzos de técnica mixta simplifican motivos como los arreglos florales, naturalezas muertas y otros objetos cotidianos en formas rudimentarias y colores cautivadores. En ocasiones, también incorpora textos con letras de estilo infantil que dan un toque lúdico a sus obras. Pero sin lugar a dudas su reto más reciente es la representación de la figura humana, en concreto de la mujer, que ha logrado incorporar con gran destreza en sus composiciones. Con ellas reflexiona sobre la historia del arte creado por mujeres y el arte actual realizado bajo la influencia del feminismo. Cuestionando la hegemónica mirada masculina, nutre y descubre una mirada femenina más profunda y personal. Tomando como lema el poema de Emory Hall que versa “He sido mil mujeres diferentes”, las figuras de Munroe actúan como narradoras de lo cotidiano, siendo a la vez delicadas y audaces, con pequeños gestos que evocan vulnerabilidad, compasión y amor.

Galina Munroe (1993) is a young Franco-British artist with whom the gallery has recently begun to collaborate. In 2014, Munroe received her undergraduate degree from the European Academy of Art in Brittany, and two years later, her graduate degree from Central Saint Martins in London. Her mixed-media canvases combine figuration and abstraction, simplifying floral arrangements, still lifes, and other everyday objects into rudimentary forms and captivating colors. Sometimes, she also incorporates texts rendered in childlike script that add another layer of playfulness to her works. But undoubtedly her most recent challenge is the representation of the human figure, specifically of the women, which she has managed to incorporate with great skill into her compositions. With them, she reflects on the history of art created by women and current art created under the influence of feminism. Questioning the hegemonic male gaze, she explores and discovers a deeper and more personal feminine gaze. Taking Emory Hall's poem "I have been a thousand different women" as her motto, Munroe's figures act as narrators of the everyday, being both delicate and bold, with small gestures that evoke vulnerability, compassion and love.
