Other initiatives: • Developed new Strategic Plan spanning next 5 years. • Implementation of formalized Volunteer Program • Submitted for OSLAD Grant funding through the IDNR for improvements at Clauss Park • Submitted for PARC Grant funding through the IDNR for renovation of the Turner Park Building. • Formed a Tree Preservation Plan to ensure long term planning and care of trees throughout the park system.

Program offerings and events continue to be a large focus; this year the District… • Hosted the 2nd annual Founders Day Festival at Clauss in partnership with the Village of Roselle. • Offered 6 free concerts 4 as a part of the Concerts on Main series in downtown Roselle, 1 at Kemmerling Pool, and 1 at Turner Park. • Held 3 pickleball clinics to teach the popular sport to the community. • Re-introduced the overnight adult trip visiting Mackinac Island. • Provided childcare services for about 90 children weekly through Camp Roselle summer camp. • Partnered with Representative Sanalitro and Senator Lewis to host a free Senior Expo at the Clauss Recreation Center.

Looking ahead the Roselle Park District plans to… • Complete improvements at Turner Park, funded by the OSLAD Grant Award. • Put emphasis on green initiatives including naturalization of open space and tree plantings. • Continue to seek alternate funding through grant applications for capital improvements. • Engage with local businesses, organizations, and municipalities to offer the residents of Roselle high quality programming, community events, and services.

Today we are living longer than ever before, and a few of us can expect to live to 100 or more. However; many people feel that they will inevitably suffer the diseases of old age in their final years. There are places in the world where, all along, people have commonly lived to 100 or more without suffering so much as a headache. How do they do it? The answer is simple: through sound dietary habits and balanced, healthy lifestyles. This program discusses the most important things you can do in life, the things that are truly meaningful, and we cannot live without. This class is also available online.

FEE R $12/NR $17

Poor circulation is very often a silent killer as its symptoms may easily be overlooked. Any congestion or blockage in the perfectly tuned roadmap of veins and arteries can deprive the heart, lungs, brain, extremities and organs of the precious oxygen rich blood. Healthy circulation is essential to maintaining a healthy body. Using a combination of self massage and simple exercises we will seek to improve circulation in our hands, feet, face and body. Healthy circulation helps promote cell growth and organ function, helps you look and feel younger. Your skin will have a healthy colour and you will feel warm to the touch. Good blood circulation helps improve brain function and keeps your mind sharp and focused. Be prepared to remove your shoes and socks and access your feet. YOUTH SPORTS Hot Shots Sports aims to develop young athletes who will grow emotionally, physically, and intellectually in our sports programs. By redirecting the focus away from wins and losses and toward personal growth, we create an environment where winning is the byproduct of, and not the means to, success. This approach creates critical thinkers who understand the importance of giving their best in practice, games, and other endeavors. Our Coaches take pride in fostering that drive and motivating your child to find the champion inside of themselves.

Pee Wee Flag Football (GV)

Lil’ Dribblers (GV)

Join the fun and start playing the nation’s most loved game! Players are introduced to stance, receiving, rushing, blocking and defense. Depending on number of participants, most weeks will end with a scrimmage encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship. Players always get to play either receiver or running back each week. Games focus on fundamentals and field concepts, as well as positions and mechanics. No equipment necessary!

The Lil’ Dribblers Basketball program introduces children to the game of basketball in a safe, fun and exciting environment. Our curriculum uses age-appropriate activities and games specifically designed to increase balance, body awareness, motor skills, hand/eye coordination, listening skills and the ability to follow directions.

The game is similar to traditional golf. Players use golf discs instead of balls and clubs and throw them at above-ground targets. The object of the game is to throw a golf disc into the target in the fewest number of throws. The combination of challenges to players, include distance, accuracy, wind, trees, shrubbery, water and terrain changes. The unique challenges offer plenty of action and excitement during the course of a game.

Online Registration Programs will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Some programs will not be available for online registration 24 hours to two business days prior to the program start date. If you do not have a username and password, we encourage you to go to the register page, select Register Household, and fill out the Online Registration Enrollment Form, you will then be emailed a username and password.

Register Early Nothing ruins a good program quicker than everyone waiting until the last minute to register for it. There is a point where if there aren’t enough registrants to hold the program, it is cancelled. Coming in the day of, or the day before the program won’t resurrect it. Please register at least a week early to avoid disappointment.

Waivers In accordance with the Recreation Department policy, all program participants must sign a hold harmless agreement prior to participation in department sponsored programs. The waivers are on the bottom portion of program registration forms, designated sign-in sheets, and fitness membership applications. These must be signed by the adult participating in an adult program; and by the parent or legal guardian of participant under 18.

Wait List Process A waitlist is formed when a class reaches participant levels beyond the maximum. The wait list is maintained based on the order we process registrations. Customers will be contacted for confirmation before being added to one of our wait lists (or transferred from a wait list into the desired program) by the front desk or specific program supervisor. Please Note: Before a participant is transferred into a program, all corresponding paperwork and payments are required.

Residency Not all Roselle residents are Roselle Park District residents. Even though you may have a Roselle address, you may pay taxes to another park district. Therefore, proof of residency is required when registering for programs for the first time. This may be done with a driver’s license, utility bill, (or a mortgage statement for those who are recently moving to the area). Roselle Park District residents support the district through property tax contributions. We apologize for any errors that may appear in the brochure. For the most updated content please view our brochure online at rparks.org. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
