In line with our Zero100 campaign to become an environmentally conscious business, we are pleased to have hosted our first ROYD litter picking event.

As we begin to introduce ROYD volunteer days, our Culture Team are encouraging our staff to volunteer their time to give back to the community. To this end, we are pleased to have launched our first litter picking event which involved the team at ROYD working together to clean up the local area.

NEW STARTERS

According to Keep Britain Tidy, everyday more than a staggering two million pieces of litter are dropped in the UK every day, with almost 48% of people admitting to dropping litter. As we aim to continue our litter picking events going forward, please join us by supporting and cleaning your local community too.

Laura Preece E-Commerce Manager

Sheela is the latest member to join the finance team, joining as a Finance Team Manager. Bringing a vast amount of knowledge and experience to the team, Sheela will play a critical role in providing financial support to ROYD.

Joining the team as an E-Commerce Manager, Laura will work alongside our Commercial Director Junior Murphy, to manage our Amazon operations in all regions globally. With a wealth of experience, Laura will be the forefront of driving our Amazon operations forward.

ROYD Walking the World

Back in December, our ROYD team embarked on a mission to bring the company together and get us all more active. As a result, we set ourselves the ultimate challenge to walk the world. We split the company into teams and counted our steps equal to that of walking the world.

With 35 ROYD Employees committing themselves to the challenge, the benchmark was set at 20,000,000 steps. This is the approximate number of steps it would take the team to walk around the entire globe. Each week, the teams would collate our results and we’re pleased to say that by week 15 of the challenge, we hit our goal.

OVERALL, WE MANAGED A GRAND TOTAL OF 21,339,262 STEPS.

ROYD Trade Events

Back in April we attended the annual NMBS Trade Exhibition, a two-day event which saw numerous NMBS partners, including some of the UK’s market-leading manufacturers and distributors of high-quality tools, equipment, and materials.

Coming up, we also will be attending the annual Screwfix Live Event in Farnborough. This is an exciting three-day event and attendees will have the chance to chat directly to our fantastic sales team at the event who will share their extensive product knowledge and understanding.

THE LATEST TRACER MARKING KIT

TRACER announce the release of their exciting new marking kit – the Ultimate Construction Marking Kit.

TRACER marking kits have become highly popular amongst tradespeople for a number of reasons, including their excellent value for money and being a great introductory choice for those new to the TRACER range.

As a result, we are pleased to announce we will soon be adding an additional marking kit to the TRACER range, known as the Ultimate Construction Marker Kit.

This kit includes our signature deep hole pencil, replacement leads containing 6 leads and two clog free markers in red and black.

The pencil has deep-hole marking capability of up to 100mm in a 3mm hole and 145mm in a 6mm hole with the unique 120mm retractable and interchangeable leads. The replacement leads contain 4 x 2B graphite leads for clear dark lines as well as 2 x alternative yellow leads for darker surfaces. along with our unique innovation, the clog free marker designed to plough through the dustiest of surfaces without drying up the marker.

This kit is suitable for marking on almost any surface including timber, metal, plastic, brick, and glass, overall providing incredible versatility for all marking requirements.

OPTIMAXX

Optimaxx Release Exciting New Video Series Built By...

In the previous quarter we worked with Alex Burman from Errioc Carpentry to develop an exciting new Optimaxx video series named “Built By”. This series focuses on producing informative videos aimed towards beginner carpenters and DIYers by demonstrating how to complete a range of carpentry tasks.

In our previous newsletter we also discussed about our new To the Maxx video series in the works and we are pleased to confirm filming has begun.

We filmed with Tom Cardy, a pro mountain biker, who put our Optimaxx screws to the test by building the ultimate 7ft kicker bike ramp. The video is set to be released later in the year, but for now head over to Tom’s YouTube channel to see the progression of the bike ramp and for some other amazing content.

Optimaxx Website Improvements

We are currently in the process of revamping the product pages on our Optimaxx website. The new pages will feature an all-new layout with an improved gallery as well as an in-depth dive into the features and specification of each product. Plus, we will also include a new web page to house all of our existing videos and future videos series to come.

COMING SOON TO OPTIMAXX WASHER HEAD SCREWS

We are thrilled to announce the Optimaxx Washer Head Screws are coming soon to our range.

The Optimaxx Washer Head Screws are the latest addition to the Optimaxx range. These screws are the ideal solution for a range of structural timber and landscaping application needs. Including fixing timber sleepers, floor joists, and batten/counter-battens and fixing insulation panels into timber.

The Optimaxx Washer Head Screws incorporate many of the features found in the Optimaxx Extreme Performance Wood Screws, including a wide deep threat for fast insertion and a sharp point for a fast start and reduced splitting.

In addition, the large washer head profile offers increased tightening force and pull through resistance. Along with additional cutting thread enlarged holes to prevent shank obstruction.

Plus, the TX Drive and Maxxtect coated provides a lifetime anti-corrosion guarantee.

Optimaxx are offering a wide selection of Washer Head Screw sizes to ensure users always have a reliable option available. Available in both 6mm and 8mm head-diameter, the 6mm head size is available in seven different lengths ranging from 80mm to 200mm.

New Optimaxx Maxxtub

Meanwhile the 8mm head size is available in eleven lengths ranging from 80mm to 300mm lengths.

In line with our Zero100 campagin, we will soon be rolling out our brand new 100% recyclable Optimaxx Maxxtub.

Made from 30% recycled plastic, our new Maxxtub features a striking new brand focused design with a number of improved design features. This includes a new durable design with increased plastic thickness to offer a more impact resistant design, offering ultimate drop protection of up to 1m even when fully filled!

With a new larger, more durable fold-flat carry handle, the Maxxtub is designed to fit up to 150mm screws and features positive location feet and pockets for secure multi-stacking of tubs. Plus, with 1 x bit included, the underside of the lid can securely store up to 4 bits. With a secure buckle, opening and closing the Optimaxx tubs has never been easier!

Plastic-Free Packaging Development

As significant changes are in motion with our SMART packaging, we wanted to give you a recap on our Zero100 campaign and how our new packaging aligns with our goals.

As we continually strive to grow and develop in an environmentally sustainable way, we have reviewed our current practises and are amending them accordingly to become a sustainable and environmentally conscious business.

One of the amendments we are currently working hard on is making positive changes to our packaging. By the end of 2023 we will introduce 0% single-use plastics across our product ranges and all remaining packaging will be 100% recyclable.

By introducing these positive changes to our packaging, we will eliminate the use of 37.16+ tons of single-use plastic per year!
