Joining the team as a DevOps Engineer, Kieran will be working alongside our Head of Operations, Mahmoud Asaad, to support the business with growing and developing the IT infrastructure and implementing solutions.
We are thrilled to welcome back Ben who has re-joined the team in the role of Product Design Engineer. Ben will be working closely with key ROYD members and together they will be leading the innovation and design of our products.
Joining the team in the role of Trainee BI Developer, Nathan will be working alongside our Head of Operations, Mahmoud Asaad, to support with the maintenance of our Business Intelligence solutions. We are excited for Nathan to share his experience with us and help to drive this forward.
We are pleased to introduce Pam as the newest addition to our Finance Team, serving as a Finance Assistant/ Credit Controller. Pam will play a crucial role within our team, supporting efforts to maintain the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts receivable and payable processes.
Michael joins the team as a National Accounts manager for ROYD UK and ROYD EU. Michael will be managing our national accounts both in the UK and Europe and we are delighted to have Michael on board at such an exciting time for the business. We look forward to Michael’s input as we continue our growth journey.
We are also pleased to offer a warm welcome to Troy Bloomfield-Prince who has joined our warehouse team on a permanent contract. As one of our warehouse operatives, he will be helping to maintain the high standard of service our customers have come to expect from our team.
We are extending our warm wishes to Andy and Gareth who join our Warehouse Team in the role of Warehouse Operatives. Both Andy and Gareth will be assisting the Warehouse Team to ensure we continue to achieve the quality of service we are able to offer to all our customers going forward.
We recently held our annual ROYD summer event at the Sports & Social Club in Writtle. This was a fantastic day to get the whole team together to play games and we enjoyed a delicious BBQ cooked by ROYD’s own, Roger and Norman.
This summer our Culture Team doubled down on our efforts to give back to our local communities. The 15th of July was marked as National Give Something Away Day and there was no better time to support this by donating to our local food bank – ‘Chelmsford Foodbank’.
The team at Farleigh were very welcoming and we spent the day helping around the garden. From weeding, to moving paving slabs, to digging up old soil to replace and tidy up, we all got stuck in and the hospice was very grateful for our help.
Our day ended with a cup of tea and some of their lovely homemade cake. It was really rewarding to help at such a special place for such an amazing cause and we hope to do more volunteering for Farleigh in the future!”
Plus, on the 18th of August members of our ROYD team got stuck in at our volunteer day at the Fairleigh Hospice.

This was an excellent opportunity to showcase our latest range and to give our customers an exclusive insight into the production of our Made in Britain blades.
We are currently working on new product videos specifically for the newest additions to the SMART and TRACER range, including the latest TRACER Lumber / Construction Crayon, Carpenters Pencil, and the new Made in Britain SMART multi-tool blade range.
Plus, with the release of our latest Contour Gauge, we are pleased to share two new product videos, including an informative tutorial video to teach end users how to correctly use the Contour Gauge tool.

In our previous newsletter we discussed the filming of the newest Optimaxx To the Maxx video series with Tom Cardy had begun.
Recently, we teamed up with Tom again to film another exciting episode for this series which sees Tom building a portable kicker bike ramp using Optimaxx screws.
Tom is a pro mountain biker with an impressive 124k YouTube subscribers and we are delighted to be working closely with him on such an exciting project to push the Optimaxx brand awareness to a whole new audience.

In 2021 we announced our ambitious Zero100 packaging campaign which meant by the end of 2023, our packaging will contain zero single-use plastics and will be 100% recyclable.
To this end, we are excited to announce the distribution of our brand-new plastic-free packaging has begun and stock is widely available.
When we originally etched the TRACER brand into the market back in 2018, we made a big impact with our Deep Hole Construction Marker range. Years of experience in the construction industry served as a solid foundation for the innovation which brought what are now our signature markers to life. While our team continues to innovate, drawing up plans and working with customers to fill gaps in the market, our latest products are quite literally taking us back to the drawing board.
The TRACER 4H Carpenters Pencil has the ability to mark clearly on wood, plastic, metal, and ceramic, this new pencil will be a trusted addition to any toolkit. As with our other markers, we understand that the key to precision marking is a finely sharpened pencil. So, much like our Deep Hole Construction Pencil, every TRACER Carpenter’s Pencil pack is sold with a perfectly sized sharpener as a companion piece.
The TRACER Contour Gauge is a heavy-duty tool that is ideal for profile scribing. It is equipped with key features such as easy sliding teeth and a simple locking lever which fix them in place. The central body is equipped with measuring gauges on both sides, one for imperial and one for metric measurements. The tool is purpose built for extensive use and ready for the regular perils found on the worksite.
Perfect for scribing around flooring, skirting and pipework, the tool will make installation of laminate flooring, linoleum, and panelling both more accurate and easier.
The Contour Gauge is available in two sizes, a 130mm (5’’) option and a 250mm (10’’) option which gives you two great choices for both small and larger jobs. For those who are struggling to pick one or the other, we also provide a combo pack containing both the Contour Gauges alongside a TRACER Deep Hole Construction Pencil.
For years, our marking range has consisted of construction pencils and marker pens. We are excited to expand that selection with the TRACER Crayon Construction Markers. Available in black, red, and yellow, our Crayon Markers are extremely versatile, being able to mark on concrete, brick, plastic, ceramic, wood, and glass. You can even mark surfaces that are either wet or dry. The red and yellow crayons are also perfect for high visibility marking on darker surfaces.
