HIGHLIGHTS WAREHOUSE
Towards the end of 2021 we announced the launch of our new 16,000 square feet distribution centre in Braintree, Essex. After what was a very turbulent 18 months with stock, storage, space, and transportation shortages hitting us, we are very proud to have successfully opened our very own distribution centre. Since opening in September 2021, 12,000 orders have been served, with 11,810 (98.42%) of those being delivered on time in full. With 1,200 pallets been shipped out since September, an additional 4,100 pallets are currently held at the centre. Opening this facility allows us to massively increase the quality of delivery and support for our customers and to drastically increase the volume of stock we can hold in view of being able to hold to our commitment of next day delivery for all orders placed before 3pm.

BAND OF BUILDER’S PROJECT SUPPORTS BAND OF BUILDERS Band of Builders is a national construction charity who provide support to members of the UK construction industry who are battling an illness or injury. Since 2016, Band of Builders have delivered life enhancing projects to help fellow tradespeople through renovations or repairs that make life changing improvements. The charity is supported by volunteer tradespeople and backed by major names within the construction industry, and we are pleased to be part of their 22nd project to help transform Howard’s home to meet his needs.
HOWARD’S STORY In April 2020, Howard Holden, a Lancashire dad-of-two, suffered unexplained heart failure in his sleep which sadly left him with severe brain damage due to lack of oxygen to his brain. After being put in a medically induced coma for two weeks, Howard has since had to relearn everything, from walking and talking to eating, 60 miles away from his home at a residential brain injury unit in Leeds. For this reason, Band of Builders will undertake a three-week project to build an extension at Howard’s home, along with installing a new fence around the garden to ensure it is safe and enjoyable for Howard and his needs. More than 40 volunteer builders across the UK will be involved in the transformation of Howard’s home. The 55-year-old is currently undergoing a staged return home and is at the point of being able to visit and stay for weekends. But his wife and daughters are hoping this will become a permanent stage soon. Howard has worked in the construction industry for most of his working life, spending 14 years as a plasterer before retraining as a building surveyor at the age of 50. However, Howard’s current conditions mean he now suffers from severe fatigue, mobility issues and other brain injury symptoms such as confusion and short-term memory loss.
