THE ROYD WAY Founded in 2010, ROYD is a family-owned construction tools and fixings innovator and distributor remaining true to its core ethos twelve years on.

Within the UK, ROYD operates a national distribution centre based in Essex, from which large stocks of over 300 product lines are available for rapid delivery anywhere in the UK. ROYD services thousands of independent tool shops, fixing stores and builders merchants as well as national retail chains and builders merchants including Toolstation, Wickes, Screwfix, Travis Perkins, Jewson, Buildbase, NMBS, Troy, H&B Buying groups and more.

ROYD EU operates from our strategically located facility in Maasland Netherlands to serve Europe and beyond.

We are committed to ensuring you never lose potential business due to supply chain disruptions.

To strengthen this commitment we hold 3 months of safety stock in our UK distribution centre for key product lines ensuring a high inventory service level.

Furthermore, we make use of real time data analytics and machine learning algorithms to compute the optimum supply chain inventory levels. It allows us to respond quickly to changes in buying behaviours which is communicated to our suppliers. Our systems also trigger automated alerts letting us know when changes occur, so our demand planners can adjust the inventory plan accordingly.

In 2021 we launched our ‘Zero100’ campaign to have 0% single-use plastics across our product ranges and for all remaining packaging to be 100% recyclable by 2023.

Such a drive will ensure ROYD introduces zero-single use plastics into the supply chain, significantly reducing ours and our customers carbon footprint. Changes to our product packaging also allow us to realise large increases in storage and logistical efficiency for the entire supply chain with product volume reductions of up to 67%.

As well as the significant changes already in motion, ROYD has also set the target of being Carbon Neutral by 2025. Whilst the Zero100 campaign will eliminate single-use plastics and ensure all packaging is recyclable, contributing massively towards our Carbon Neutral target, it is the logistical efficiencies gained through packaging volume reduction which makes an even larger contribution.

Furthermore, ROYD plan to reduce carbon emissions through electric vehicle fleets, both in-house and with our logistics partners. Then engaging with an appropriate Carbon Offsetting initiative to continue to monitor, reduce and offset our environmental impact and to become a sustainable and Carbon Neutral organisation.
